Another thing since she filed in late June she may not have been placed in the storage bin. Therefore, you may want to ask her when she was touched last prior to her NOA2.

I dont have any idea when was her case touched though. But mine was touched July 7. My PD is July 5. So Im not one of those who were touched on Aug 4. Im a July filer too but I mailed mine on June 29.

I doubt it matters about the last touched date. I figure they just put all of the July peope in there. That may not be the case for June filers who have NOA1 dated in July.

Darn. I've been gone for a few days from VJ. And just when I get back here, all I want to read are the good news for July filers, and yet, I am let down again by CSC. Well, back to sleep.

reg.ula.tion.me.ooow.2011 // tomcat.fight

to do list:
file i-130, petition for alien relative
get immigrant visa
get ssn card and green card
get employment authorization - not required
file I-751, petition to remove the conditions of residence (before 2nd year expires upon entry)
become a US citizen

Thank you Visajourney!

These past 6 months we've been apart are sort of becoming a blur. I feel like my life's on pause, even though I've been trying to stay active.

Anyone else feel like they're almost hibernating through a year of their life while the USCIS wait drags on? The prospect of even more delays for us July filers is almost too much to take.

Is it any comfort to know you're not alone? I feel much the same way. I've been fortunate that I've been to see Sue more often than that, but not by much. That said, I may not be able to go so frequently in the future. For what it is worth, the timeline data seems to be firming up for a mid-December processing and my NOA1 date is towards the very end of July. Maybe we'll all luck out?

Trips:

Jan2010 - First Trip, met in person

Jul2010 - Trip two!

Nov2010 - Trip Three, Got engaged :)

Feb2011 - Trip Four. Spring Festival, Lucky Money all around :D

July2011 - Trip Six... Honeymoon in Xiamen :D

October2011 - Trip Seven... Beijing and the Great Wall :)

January2012 - Trip Eight... Chinese New Years and Spring Festival! More Lucky Money! :D

April2012 - Trip Nine... Interview?

Paper work for CR1:

28 July 2011 - 20January 2012 - Day 175... USCIS at CSC finally processed our paper work.

30January2012 - NVC 'received' the paperwork

6February2012 - NVC GUZ case number assigned - Attempted to OPTIN to EP.

7February2012 - NVC GZO (EP) case number assigned

VJ is a big help. It's nice to have a group of people who understand the process. After about 4 months of asking when my husband was going to be here, real life friends and family finally decided to believe me that, really, it was going to be eight months or more....and then they started trying to convince me that "Surely, just coming here on a tourist visa and just staying isn't such a big deal, right?" Facepalm. Facedesk.

Another June with an NOA2 yesterday!

Another June with an NOA2 yesterday!

Been there, done that.

"What do you mean she isn't here? You married her back in April, why isn't she here yet?"

"You mean she just doesn't get to come back with you as soon as you get married?" <-- seen too many TV shows where it is like that

I've absolutely lost track of how many times I've been asked by different people why she isn't here and how long it'll take. Such as it is, the good thing is that I've also lost track of how many people have said how messed up the system is and how much it needs change. This whole process has also given me an entirely different perspective on immigration processes in general.

I've been asked the tourist visa question a number of times. Though usually in the form of "Can't she at least visit while you wait?" Then I have to explain to them that the odds of her getting a visitors visa were already near zero before we got married and the minute we said "I do" they dropped below zero. I then have to explain to them that outside of the VWP (and even that might be risky) there is little to no chance a foreigner of any kind would be able to get a visitors visa while married to an USC and awaiting an IR1/CR1. In fact, I just had to explain it yesterday. All of that is doubly true for Sue since she's Chinese and falls into the "No way in hell are you getting a visitor's visa" bucket. :(

You'd think they'd realize it if the visitor visa thing were an option you wouldn't be having that conversation with them as your husband/wife would likely be standing there, no?

Generally speaking, excluding anyone who is eligible for VWP, no one in this forum/thread is likely to be able to get a visitor visa. The most important question with that is if you can prove you do not have an immigration intent, and with a USC spouse how could you possibly prove it? How could one prove that they will leave their spouse and go home when nothing is physically forcing them to do so?

The only reason someone who is eligible for VWP might have a chance is that they wouldn't have to prove no intent before even getting on the plane and they may not even be asked about it when they got to POE at this end. That is a risk I might be willing to take, since we really would follow the requirements of the VWP, but we're not eligible so it is moot for us. :(

A wise person once said, for the average Chinese person applying for a visitor visa all you're doing is paying the US government 150USD to tell you no.

Is difficult to prove do not want to emigrate to the United States with an American husband.

I paid $ 140 dlls for a tourist visa, it is difficult get a tourist visa, you must provide a lot of things.

for example my mom went to her appointment at the consulate in Tijuana last Thursday,

the interview for her and my little brother took 3 hours!

and they were the renewal of her tourist visa for 10 years.

but my mom had to verify income, living in Mexico, business, bank account, and most importantly, the officer asked why she wanted to renew the visa,

my mom said for shopping and pleasure trips.

AND THE OFFICER SAY: OK APPROVED, YOUR VISA COMING IN 2 WEEKS, Have a nice day.

its hard to get a turist visa,:(

I want OUT of the storage warehouse RIGHT NOW! Who else wants to cry with me? All we can do right now is pray and realize this is in God's will and in time we will be with our loved ones. I saw some late July filers approved for I129F. Why are they more important than us married couples?
