my "last touch" date was 3 months ago, the same date as the NOA1. something's wrong here...

My last touch was also the same as the NOA1. Supposedly the "touches" can be (and generally are) for things like someone moving the file to a different place in storage. A friend who worked for USCIS told me that agents spent an average of 15 minutes actually looking over each application and running the background checks.

I think unfortunately, most of these 3-6 months at USCIS are spent just waiting for someone to take your paperwork out of the box where it's been gathering dust; once they do that, you either get accepted or are issued an RFE pretty quickly.

I'm curious if the date of being touched reveals anything. My file shows touched on 8/25. How about everyone else. What is your last touched date?

Don't stress over your touches. Like someone else said, they could be moving the files around. Literally doesn't mean anything. They're just nice to see so that you remember your file exists, but don't have much to do with your case in the end.

Many of us July filers seem to have the same 08/04 last touch. There must have been a big box of files moved at once. Hopefully they'll all get approved at once!

I have a priority date of the 25th of July. How come the status on immigration timelines says July 31 when hardly any of us are approved yet? In a few days.....I will reach the 3 month mark.

There's just no rhyme or reason to it. Maybe it's based on the fact that a certain number from that date and beyond have been processed or it's based on the median?
