Tsk. Tsk. If you are going to insult someone, you should at least know the proper word! And use a real dictionary, FFS.

Trying to compare Mr. Obama with Adolf Hitler is just plain silly on many levels.

Sure, Mr. Obama is a great Speaker, as was Herr Hitler, but that's where the buck stops.

But while the President's actions are more focussed on talking and negotiating and compromising and apologizing and explaining and talking more, the Führer's goal was action. Just do it, he said, and that's exactly what he did. He walked the walk.

Obama promised change we can believe in, and Hitler did change the world beyond what people believed would be possible. Big difference.

It would take a lot of Obamas to fill a single shoe of Hitler.

That by no means is an evaluation or attempt of justification of Hitler's politics or even his personal state of mind, which clearly, was not "normal" by any means, but the caliber of his personality and statute which proves that genius and madness are bedfellows. Since the First Reich (the Greek one, for those who really don't know) and the Second Reich (the Roman Empire) had no individual been able to mesmerize the masses as Hitler did. In this regard, he can be compared to an emperor, which make sense as he envisioned a Third Reich. Since Hitler's passing no individual of any nation, race, gender, or orientation of any kind has been able to reel in so many followers, and you could combine every cult--including Scientology--and every group, and every dictator, including the Cuban and South American and African guys like Idi Amin, and they would fade compared to Hitler.

So let's not drift into sillyness when trying to dwarf President Obama's accomplishments so far. We can argue if he held up his promise of change, we can argue his politics, we can argue a lot of things, but one thing we can't do without coming over as nutcases: comparing him to Hitler.

Seriously.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

How about a male order toothless old cockneys? :bonk:

Cockneys are from the mainland. My husband is not from the mainland. And he has teeth. We just paid them off last week.

As for "male" order, well I confess. They are lined up to come over here. Trying to flee the potato famine, you know.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."
