question on total income and assets

Hello, was wondering if any experienced vjers could answer couple questions.

1. I was using my mom as a cosponsor and the most recent tax year my mom had alot of medical things that came up which made her salary less then the previous year do i have to use the latest balance even if it is not her normal salary?

2. i had planned to use my husbands assets( a home) to help meet the income requirements and we just had it appraised and the value of the home even after converted is more then the amount that i needed to prove from the poverty guidelines. I read the instructions and i think i understand it but would like confirmation. ok i am assuming that i can't just use that asset to meet the guidelines and drop my cosponsor am i correct? assets can only be used to supplement a deficit and has to be 3 times, correct?

my husband owns only 1 home but we actually live in another flat do you think that would satisy them enough to not consider it "hardship" to include it as an asset?

thanks so much for anyone who took the time to read all this. i truly appreciate the help.

lol, my mistake. the home is here in egypt

It's doubtful that will be accepted. Assets held outside the US are not as easy to use. The US government could not easily compel a sponsor to liquidate a foreign asset.

What If I Cannot Meet the Income Requirements?

The value of your assets, the assets of any household member who has signed a Form I-864A, or the assets of the intending immigrant;

why do they put it in their as an option if they will refuse it? Is their something that we can do that may reassure them?

Sell it, convert it to dollars, deposit the dollars in the US bank account that you have to have anyway for your own assets, and show them the balance. That should adequately reassure them.
