Thank you for the wishes , Allegra! What really wakes me up - is the sound of SMS on my cell phone, but usually I get some junk from T-Mobile  or my wife's lovely SMSs (L):P .

Before the NVC stage make sure you have you I-864 ready to fire out (as soon as you have your I-864 paid) and DS-230 itself with supplementing docs (marriage certificate, divorce, PC etc).

I'd advise you have your hubby DS-230 pre-filled out, go over, correct any errors, polish it and tell him to send it over to you or to NVC (depending who's gonna be an agent).

Plus, make sure your husband sends you check for 10,000 (at least) $ or Euro for your small pocket expenses :D (it has nothing to do with your visa processing). It's kinda moral compensation for your I-130 approval's waiting. Just kidding :D.

I like the way you think. Oh wait no.... I LOVE the way you think. :lol:B-)

That sum will, at the very least, cover my excessive going out to lunches and concerts with my friends to have a little company in my life

So what you're saying is that I can send all of the documents for Hadrien? I like that idea.

He got his police certificate. He still needs to get the military thing.

Ugh.. I'll take care of it this weekend. I need to get back to work for once in my life (then go celebrate).

Hi Fellow May Filers,

I'm so happy we got emailed from the NVC with our NVC case number. This is really weird because I just checked our case status at the uscis website and the status was still initial review. Also, haven't receive our NOA2 letter. Strange huh? We got two emails from NVCInquiry@state.gov. The first email is for the petitioner with NVC case number, applicant's current address, AOS fee bill invoice, ds-3032 with NVC barcode & NVC contact information & info about DS-3032. The 2nd email is for the applicant with NVC case number, invoice id letter & the beneficiary id letter, DS-3032 with NVC barcode. Weird, I thought after NOA2 letter, you have to wait for the NVC. Do you guys have any idea why we didnt have to wait for our NOA2 & we just got NVC email? I'll check our NVC case online & see what's going on.

Wow that is a pretty nice surprise!!! Congrats! Let us know how it goes.

I guess, only the God has the explanation how come you've by passed NOA2 and got e-mails from NVC. You're lucky that someone from the NVC was not lazy and looked into your data info from your I130 petition and used your e-mail address to communicate with you.

Why this happened: the person from USCIS had forgotten to notify you via either text SMS or e-mail. Good part of it: hope NVC backs to its normal case # assigning time (your case is an example).

Anyway, good luck to you  and keep us posted.

Well, if you want to speed up the process, he should send all the papers to you. This way it would be faster

Unless the Deutsche Post (as far as I know it operates in France - I was ordering something for my wife from France and package was delivered withing exactly 7 days) woks faster than UPS.

Who's still waiting? I requested expedite on Monday and can't even tell if that was denied. They sent this the same day.

The status of this service request is:

Thank you for your inquiry.  You should receive a notice of action* within 45 days.

*A notice of action may be in a form of Approval Notice, Denial Notice, Transfer Notice, Request for Evidence, Notice of Intent to Deny or Notice of Intent to Revoke

I am so sick of this process already. Seems like 90% of people go through the USCIS wihin 3 months. Now there are big NVC delays? Not to mention I have to do my interview at the Montreal Consulate and that could be a 4 month wait. Basically this could take over a year. Thanks for reading my vent.

. Just relax, buddy. Your petition and mine will be approved at the same time, which is next week :P . I got that inner feeling :D . It's like boiling the water: it's warming, warming and as a result you have water spill on the kitchen stove  .

Moyo, buddy, there has been recently some petitions with NOA1 as of May 18th approved, so we're the next. If not, I owe you a pack of beer (Heineken or Backs). Just let me know - where to find you: in the USA or in Canada :D.

Is that correct that the backlog at Montreal is 4 months? It's killing me as well. Well, in fact, my wife is gonna kill me somewhere in Toronto  due to this delay, because I've already told her about expected interview somewhere at the end of this year. Damn it!

By the way, does anyone here on this thread (or on forum at all) have an info on hand how to contact Montreal consulate via e-mail or phone? I'd really appreciate that help.

I'm not sure if my French is correct, but grand merci, Allegra !

I need to contact consulate regarding my wife's PCC from Ukraine, although she's been Canadian PR since January 2005 and has her certificate as of January 2011 (when she was visiting her parents), but it expires next January.

Ugh, sounds like a drag :bonk: ! Do you need that document to send or for the interview?

:ot: My father's side is Ukranian too!! I am so mad he never taught me how to speak the language though.

His parents migrated to the US during WWII (and my mom moved to the US from France for my dad).

Just thought you'd like to know

I am actually looking forward to you getting your NOA2 because nothing about the NVC stage makes sense to me right now.

I received my NOA2 hardcopy in the mail today. It says to wait a minimum of 30 days before contacting the NVC.

People say they send an e-mail to the beneficiary with the choice of agent form, but I don't think I ever gave them Hadrien's e-mail??

So confused. GET YOUR NOA2 ALREADY!

Both. It should be submitted along with DS260 (on-line version of DS230) and needs to be presented at interview.

:ot: My father's side is Ukranian too!! I am so mad he never taught me how to speak the language though.

His parents migrated to the US during WWII (and my mom moved to the US from France for my dad).

Nice to know. That was so called "2nd emigration wave of Ukrainians".

Thank you, Allegra, for the support ! If the consulate would need updated wife's PCC from Ukraine - it's gonna suck (cost of flight to Ukraine + etc). I still hope, that the consulate's personnel would be smart enough to realize that she's been Canadian resident since 2005 and never lived in Ukraine since than exceeding 6 months. So what's the point of getting newer PCC from Ukraine as of, let's say, January 2011 if she has one covering up to January 2011 and since that time she was constantly residing in Canada? To renew PCC as of January 2011 in January 2012? It's a nonsense and absurd.

I'll try to explain it to consulate personnel via e-mail (or phone), because the 1 year rule of PCC validity can't be applied in this case. In addition, there's nothing on PCC itself saying about an expiration date.

Well, will see. The only thing I'm really pissed about is that I could have submitted my i-130 long time ago, somewhere in February-March. But my wife did postpone that submission for no reason.

That is absurd indeed  . Does that mean she needs both police certificates?

I don't think it's worth a plane ticket...isn't there a way to have her parents or a relative get the document, if she writes a letter (or fax) saying they will pick it up? Then when they go pick it up, they show the letter and their ID.

At least that is how it works in France when you're not in the country.

I know what you mean about not submitting earlier. Hadrien was postponing too. He never said anything about it, but I knew that it wasn't the easiest idea for him to accept moving to a completely foreign country - Paris and Los Angeles are POLAR opposite cities.

Now that we've had out big ceremony, filed the visa and are ready to start our lives together, he couldn't be more excited to move!

All we can do and think right now, is that everything will be OK once this process is over  !
