Hello All,

I'm trying to figure out where my fiancee will actually be going thru customs at to enter the USA. She is coming from the Philippines this Sunday, and she will be traveling to Guam, then to Houston, TX, and from there on to Nashville, TN. I know that when I flew back from the Philippines I went thru customs both in Guam and in Houston, so I'm confused as to where she will be asked to give the brown envelope, because I'm just paranoid that once she gives it at one place, will they ask for it again, and how can she give it again if she doesn't have it? Just concerned, so since I have gotten soooo many helpful and informative responses here that have helped us reach this day of success, I'm reaching out for some help again! :)

Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might share!

Sincerely,

Jason

Since Guam is a US Territory, I am assuming it will have CBP officers there for customs service. If they take her packet, then an I-94 will be issued.

She'll be good to go after that. If Guam doesn't process her (unlikely), then Houston will. Don't worry too much. She will be fine and will be with you

If she is flying on Continental.....then yes guam is her port of entry, but i flew this route many times, and i suggest she ask about her luggage when getting off at guam, sometimes they make you re-check luggage and sometimes you do it in hawaii, she will have to clear customs too, but it all depends, my asawa is taken this route also, ive ask her to ask the flight attendent if she will have to clear customs at guam or hawaii........but guam is the POE, she will hand the package and get her stamp.......but id surely be sure and ask if they need to re-chack baggages.. it is confuessing at 4 am in the morning and it seems its up to the CBP in guam....

Make sure she remembers to ensure that, wherever she hands in her brown envelope, she doesn't leave the immigration area without an I-94 form stamped and stapled in her passport, and tell her to triple-check that her name is spelled correctly on it before she leaves. (And that any other info on it is correct, as well!) It will save a LOT of hassle later on!

DON'T PANIC

Customers traveling to the U.S., China (except Beijing) and India, who are connecting to a domestic flight within any of those countries or to another international destination, must claim their luggage upon their arrival to the first port of entry and re-check it with the connecting airline

Her P.O.E will be Guam, she will not clear Customs nor claim her bag's while in Guam. The Customs for Guam is different than the Custom's on the U.S Mainland. They will tell all this to them on the flight to Guam. She will clear Customs and claim her bag's in Hawaii. I have flown this same route once before and my wife has flown it twice to and from the Philippines. Immigrations in Guam is very, very friendly. They will take the brown envelope and then give it back to your Fiance. They will then instruct her to hand it over in Hawaii. This made no sense to me cause they are only clearing Custom's in Hawaii, When my wife (then fiance) tried this Hawaii Customs informed her that she needed to give the package to Immigrations in Houston,Tx. No need to worry for she has already cleared Immigrations in Guam and will only be handing over the package in Houston. The only problem with Houston is she will land on the Domestic side and Immigrations is on the International side of the airport. No big deal if this is your Fiance's final stop cause you can take her to the other side. Once they get the package then it is sent to the local processing center.

I think you're a little confused. She'll POE and go though immigration in GUAM. She'll go through customs in Hawaii. The flight DOES NOT fly directly from Guam to Houston.

Guam is a US Territory, CBP officers should be there for customs service. If so they will get her packet a I-94 will be issued.

Then on to the mainland. If Guam doesn't process her Houston will. Tell her to be polite. Good Luck
