Princeton same-sex spouse won't be deported

The United States is included in my count of 34-ish countries, as same sex unions are performed and recognized in 11 states, with two other states recognizing the unions performed in those 11 states. As well there are about a dozen other states where same sex unions are a real possibility in the next decade.

I don't imagine it will be too long before same sex unions are legal and recognized throughout the US.

Also, the DOMA is a piece of ####### legislation -- but that's totally OT.

O/T but you do know jundp that there's a better than average chance your son is going to be posting in the RUB forum when he seeks a visa for his new RUB spouse. He's most likely going to become one of us

back on topic...the DOMA is one of the better pieces of legislation imo.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

DUDE! My son is only a sophomore in college, but he and his gf have already discussed marriage for after grad school. Perhaps they won't stay together, but he's going to Vladivostock for an intense course in the Russian language, not to look for a wife.

Regardless, he could never be one of you  Seriously, I wouldn't care as long as whoever he ends up with shares his morals, loves him, and is his intellectual equal. His gf of 2 years fits that description.

I truly hope for his gf's sake, she not only looks like a super model, but she's a tiger in the...whatever. I'm dead on serious about this. I went to work over there and my head was never the same. I would say that close to 75 - 80% of the US and UK guys that worked on our crew on Sakhalin ended up marrying a RUB woman whether or not they had a gf or wife back home. Even the missionary's that go over there don't stand a chance...that's why some churches stopped sending married missionary's to the RUB country's for the fact the wives were losing them like fly's.

Yep, he's going to be a RUB member soon enough. NP, we promise to show him the ropes in regards on how to handle his women and go through the visa process ASAP!

1. I live in a land called "My Child Doesn't Have Sex" and I'll stay in that make-believe land until his first child is born

2. His gf is not only gorgeous, but as I said, his intellectual equal. Every mom thinks their children are brilliant, but in this case, it's true. He really is. And he needs to be with people who are as intelligent as he is.

Back to topic: "gays" should be allowed to get "married" and have all the "benefits" that "straight" people have.

It's true

It's true

and....LOL

Most women in the RUB country's have a college degree...my wife has a PhD in veterinary medicine. In fact the number of college educated women in Russia far out number the ones in the US per capita...it's not even close. Walmart, Taco Bell and MTV vs engineers, doctors, etc..

back on topic... DOMA is sure to stay as it is ...at least I pray it does.

I don't doubt he is. That's going to make it all the harder for him. He's going to meet loads of women that not only look like super models but are college educated and speak not just one or two languages, but several. He's going to think he's died and went to heaven. It's all about "testosterone".

Well we have one promoting date rape so why not?

Nice try...but fail. A bottle of champagne and a few long island ice tea's with Marvin Gaye playing in the back ground does not mean "date rape" by any means.

I love it when people falsely use the term "rights" when involving the term "gay." It's quite amusing.

"Gays" already have the same "rights" as everyone else.

Marriage is a behavior. Smoking is a behavior. Drinking is a behavior. All of these things are regulated accordingly. You have no "right" to them, though there's one resident expert here who seems to think that marriage is a "right." Eventhough on Federal level, there is no such right.

My point is, is that "Gays" want to be treated equally. They aren't fighting for "rights" like Black men and Women had to fight for their "rights."

Equating the two is disgusting to be quite honest and a disservice to those who had a REAL battle to be fought.

If you need the Government to recognize your union with your partner to be happy, if you need it to feel like your relationship is "special" then that's utterly pathetic and your relationship isn't about "love" at all.

I don't care if you want to hump and marry a donkey. I don't care honestly. However don't act like that there's some great force in the world that makes it that your "rights" are being violated in not being allowed to do so.

The litmus test is the fact that we rely on Government to DICTATE the social benefits we can and cannot receive based on the status of a document we hold with them. That is and always has been the problem. Now so long as government offers a social benefit to couples, then those benefits should be non-discriminatory in their nature. However just because a benefit is there, don't confuse that with a "right." They are not one in the same. A "right" is something that can technically never be taken away under normal circumstances. Marraige can be taken away in a heartbeat in the role of government, therefore it is in no way a right, just like smoking and drinking are not a right.

Ranting yes... just "Gay Rights" is an irritating and irrational term.

So how is fighting for gay recognition disgusting?

He speaks 7 and she speaks at least 3. She does look like a supermodel, and she's nice, but not a pushover. He also has far more substance than you are giving him credit for

You might as well give it up, fishdude. I've tried asking that question and received no valid answer.

I'm afraid the word of a guy who overcompensates his masculinity with anecdotes about prostitutes and getting women drunk enough to have sex in the back of a truck has no worth whatsoever. In my book you are a rapist.

Paul has no intellectual argument to back up his position yet he finds parity between civil rights for gays and similar rights for gays "disgusting". Paul seems to live his life through hyperbole.
