when is it boilermaker?

This coming Tuesday. It will be 6 weeks after interview.

You can always ask to see your case's adjudicating officer..

I'll try to get in contact with the IO.. doubt they will want to see me though.

Shakil,

I would go back on the pages for the July filers and look at peoples timelines, or their posts. Either way, it isn't long, for some people it was only days....

I wouldn't worry too much now, you're over the worst part of it

Let us know what happens with your infopass boilermaker, I do really feel that it's better than calling the 1 800 number but at the same time, I can't help feeling that the people behind the desk aren't telling us everything. I mean all the nice IO did with my case was look on the computer next to her, "with the officer" status hardly seems relevant now? I guess it's a fine line about insisting to know what is happening and (dread to think) pissing them off to the point where they decide to put your file at the bottom of the pile.

At the end of the day, they have the power and we have to just sit here and hope!

Will let you know for sure. What I'm most afraid right now is the fact that holidays are coming soon. I'm sure many people get week long vacation, however that doesn't stop to receive more applications. I'll have to come up with some other questions so that the IO doesn't think i'm completely wasting his/her time. Not that my time is any less valuable...anyway. I'm still within their goal timeframe so hopefully will see something before mid Dec.

Thanks for those best wishes sayswho, I only wish I could be posting about oath ceremonies. I hope that I don't sound too selfish with my posts, I know that there are others waiting that share the same anguish as people like myself and Boilermaker are going through at the moment. And I only wish the best for them too, I guess my anguish is somewhat more heightened because I have flights booked out of the USA early January and I need that passport before then. Believe me if this wasn't the case I would just forget about the whole thing until I got the oath ceremony update. I thought I had plenty of time but the time window is getting shorter every week.

I hear you Boilermaker, these times with Veterans and thanksgiving doesn't sound like the most productive of times for USCIS staff members, it's a concern I share too. We can only hope that we are wrong

So I went to my appointment and talked to the officer at the counter. He was a nice guy, didn't give me hard time. He asked whether the IO game a reason for not having made a decision, to which I said no. After typing something in his computer and staring at the monitor for a while he said.. 'oh i see...your security check is not complete'. After asking further, pretty much the officer said that I'll just have to wait.

I don't think I feel any better....I'd have thought security checks are completed in advance. He said that for N-400 they dig further.

security check? #######? this is insane Boilermaker? Shouldn't all of these checks be made BEFORE you get to the interview stage? AND if this is standard procedure then why are some people allowed same day oath ceremonies?? where are their security checks?

none of this makes sense!!!

Honestly, my guess is that the file is sitting there and the most diplomatic answer they can give is 'background check'.

I'm calling the 1 800 number this morning and insisting to ask to a level 2 officer, if they decline I'll just tell them "I'm going to keep calling until you do put me through"...

if I get told "it's still with the officer" then fine, I haven't tried this method but who knows....

OK spoke to a level 2 officer, apparently if you request to do this twice you get put through! I thought it would be much more difficult than that

The IO was very nice but unfortunately he told me that they only rely on computer information, and that my case just read "passed the interview October 6th".... and so Infopass appointment number two at Seattle field office...

I'll make one for next week, and if I don't get any further news from the IO the second level officer on the phone said I could request to ask for the interviewing officer, which I think I may do if I don't get any progress... I could hardly forget that guy's name lol

this whole thing makes you just want to :bonk: lol
