Btw, I am curious. If your field office is NYC, then how did you end up mailing your application to Lincoln, NE?

All naturalization applications filed under the military provisions, sections 328 or 329 of the INA, must send your application to the Nebraska Service Center (NSC) regardless of where you live and whether you are filing from within the United States or abroad. If you are the spouse of a current member of the military, or are the close relative of a deceased family member (319(d)), send your application for naturalization to the NSC regardless of where you live and whether you are filing from the within the United States or abroad. Hi Everyone,

We had our oath ceremony today in Oakland. There were 1203 people swearing in from 93 countries, amazing!! New citizens were seated downstairs at the Paramount theater and friends and family seated upstairs. They discussed registering to vote, how to get your passport, etc. All 93 countries represented were announced, star spangled banner, pledge of alliance, Obama introduction, and the "proud to be an american" video. Everyone was then presented with their naturalization certificates at their seats. It started at 9.15am and we were done around 11am.

Next, we headed across the bridge into San Francisco to apply for the passport. I made the appointment through the automated system a few weeks ago. Although you could apply right at the ceremony, we need to leave the country in a few weeks, so thought it was best to make an appointment. The passport will be available for pick-up on Friday, so fast!

Good luck to everyone, its an fantastic feeling to be finished with this process!!

Congratulations Converse 34!! Happy the process is over for you - and great to hear about the ceremony.

BTW, did you apply for your passport before the oath ceremony?

Sat my citizenship test/interview today and all went well - I received and "approved" stamp and now have to wait for the oath letter/date in the mail! Good luck all other July filers!
