Hi Celtics! Were you interviewed in Johnston, RI? I don't have any notice like that and I was interviewed in Johnston, RI. When did you receive that notification? Was it online or thru mail?

Yes, my interview was in Johnston,RI. My interview was on the Sept 23. I check daily for the online updates, and on Sept 28 it said I was placed in the oath scheduling que. I cant wait for it to change so I can get my oath date.

Are you also processing your application in RI?

Yes! I had my interview last Sept. 15 in Johnston, they said I was approved but they can't make a decision yet because my 3rd yr. anniversary was last Oct. 2. So now it's Oct. 4 already and there's no notification in the website yet. Did you receive anything from the mail yet? Do you have an idea when they have the oath taking in RI? The male IO who interviewed me said that it will probably be sometime in November. How about you?

No i have not received anything in the mail, just checked on USCIS website for my case status.

I was under the impression that oaths were done every Friday in the Johnston office. However my IO told me too that my oath would be in Nov. I hope it is sooner than that since I am pretty sure oaths are done every Friday at the Johnston field office.

It sucks because there was one person besides me when I went the my interview. It was right after an oath ceremony because when I arrived the parking lot was full and many people were leaving the office. When I left there was like 8 o 9 cars, which was like half an hour later.

Ill post something if I get any news.

If there is an oath every Friday I'm just wondering why my IO said that probably my oath will be November. When I had my interview there were not enough people in the building. I thought that their office is not so busy... I just look at the website again and there's no change in my status... Hopefully I will receive something when our mailman arrives. Thanks for replying to my queries...

I just received my oath letter in the mail this morning. It said it will be on Oct 17 at the US District Court on Exchange Terrace.

However my status still says the same thing that I was placed in the oath que on Sept 28. Maybe they don't really get to doing the updates that often and you might get something in the mail before your online status changes.

So my oath will not be in the USCIS building but a the Discrict Court.

Thank you for that info celtics. My husband just got the mail and there's nothing for me up to now. If I may ask you, did you apply for a 3 years or 5 years based on marriage to a US citizen or are you a dependent of a US citizen?

So I had my interview today and it was not what I expected at all.I was well prepared for Govmt. and US history but i was not that well prepared to discuss my history. I'm applying based on marriage with USC. The officer started by asking the 10 questions, then read the sentence and write it on piece of paper. Then the IO started by asking me questions regarding my relationship with my wife and details about marriage (where I live, why this, why that, when did, when that...etc). I felt like I was going through Removal of Conditions rather than Naturalization.

Then finally we went through the N-400 and some Yes/No questions. I think i was in the office for a about an hour. At the end of the interview I signed three documents: one that states that a decision could not be made but that I passed the exam (interesting enough, a check is next to a sentence that I can ask any questions by writing to the IO, all i need to do is attach a copy of that paper - I guess there is a thread going on about contacting IO after interview) ; another document stated that I presented my GC; and last document with 6 questions verifying that the info was correct (ie. I'm still married to my spouse, we are not separated and have not filed for divorce and that we live at the present address - I had to write Yes/No).

Any of you guys based on USC marriage went through something like this? or at least sign those documents i explained?

Now I'll have to wait for whatever decision. Still I'm days away from my 3 LPR anniv.

Had my interview also today and it wasn't exactly what I expected either...

Got called in my a thoroughly nice IO, unfortunately named Officer Orji (pronounced orgy), great I thought to myself, please don't laugh!

Anyhow he went through my N400 which seemed to be OK and did the usual ticking of things with his red pen. Then we came to the civic questions...

First one totally threw me... Believe me I know my 100 civic questions but I didn't get an easy question to start with at all. As he asked me the question about the first amendment (and I can't remember exactly what it was) I was thinking "god this guy has thought "well he's English, so let's give him some difficult ones" :P .... anyhow I answered something about being over 18 to vote which I think was kinda correct?

Anyhow the other questions were about the cold war and communism, vice president: Joe Biden (at last an easy one), 1st amendment right: speech and another bloody strange one about the colonists, think he termed it "what were the colonists looking for when they came to America?".... I mentioned about Freedom and exploration of new lands....

anyhow I thought I would get a few "what do the thirteen stripes on the flag represent" questions and I was definitely mistaken

Still Officer Orgy (snigger) was a really nice guy and I think he knew that I knew enough and passed the test. As other posters have stated here my case is for further review but just because my 5 yr anniversary is on the 12th so I guess it goes to the 2nd level IO now and then hopefully I will here about an oath ceremony being scheduled very soon...

phhewww glad that's over

just looked over the questions online again and my first question was question 48 : There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.

I said about being older than 18 but officer orgy wanted me to include the word "citizen over 18"

and the other one that caused a bit of confusion was question 58: What is one reason colonists came to America? I did say freedom but maybe he wanted more? lol oh well at least I was right

Hello all!

Congrats for those who passed an interview!

Yesterday my husband received a yellow letter in which he is asked to bring his state issued ID or drivers license and his all passports and travel documents (expired and current) issued by any government...

still no updates online about status change... but hopefully soon :)

so people is it possible to have drivers license issued in one state and the ID is another?...
