N-400 July Filers

Scheduled for an interview on 10/11/11. But would have to reschedule due to prior engagement... Has anyone done that..how long it would take for them to send it again?

So we just got back home from the interview. It took less than 10 minutes for the entire interview, the guy that interviewed me was pretty nice and friendly. I took the oath and started the civics part of the test, he asked 6 questions and I answered them no problem. Then we did the english part of the test and went over the N400 application. He asked me some questions about my wife and my trip out of the country, etc. After that he told me that they can't make a decision right now because my 3 years isn't until October 4th, but that everything was fine. He gave me the paper that said I passed the tests but couldn't make a decision.

DavidandMae-I know they pretty much tell everybody in KC office that no decision can be made right now but have you heard of them not making a decision until your 3 or 5 year (whatever you filed for) time had come up? Was just hoping to be looking for the approval in a few days and then the long wait for the oath. Now it seems like the approval will still be a month away and the oath another two months! Any ideas?

I will join that boat as well. My interview is on Oct 5th and my LPR anniversary is not until Oct 15th. I'll follow your case closely. I heard some people saying that received approval through status update online a day after LPR anniversary.

My interview was pretty easy and according to everybody else who had his or her experience at KC USCIS mentioned the samething about how smooth their interview went . I'm sure some of you are wondering what kind of questions i was asked during the interview ,so here we go :

1- Who wrote the declaration of independence?

2-Who is the father of our country?

3-What is the name of the speaker of the house of representative now?

4- If the president can no longer serve , who becomes president ?

5- Name one of the biggest rivers in the united states ?

6-What is the capital of the united states ?

Regarding the reading part he gave me this sentence ---- Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves ----

And i had to write ---- Lincoln was the president during the civil war ----

That's it guys pretty easy huh !!!!! Good luck to all the rest of you and sure you'll all do a great job .

I filed based on 3-year marriage (been married for 4) so they didn't have to tell me about the decision cannot be made. I'd say you'll get the approval once your 3rd anniversary is up. Hang in there... The waiting will drive you crazy like it did me, but after that, all is good. Keep us posted!
