Well, I received my FP appointment letter today...much quicker than anticipated, however, they are asking me to appear on Sept 1st!...almost a month from today. Definitely will attempt E. FP sometime this week.

I wonder if naturalization process in Arizona is delayed or have way too many people applying that they have to schedule me a month later.

I'm no expert on how the people at USCIS process these applications but the whole process has to be >90 days anyway doesn't it? If it was quicker then you would be taking the oath before the official 5 year benchmark...

So even if you did go for an early walk in for the FP, your interview and oath date will still be in line with the >90 day limit..

I myself have a 12 day holiday planned in September so I am actually hoping that my interview will be late September, so I don't mind the few weeks to wait to have the biometrics..

I don't think this is necessarily true. I don't see anywhere in the Immigration Nationality Act that process has to take more than 90 days. Getting fingerprints processed earlier doesn't guarantee quicker results but relieves the stress of waiting and allows people who, for some reason, cannot make it to the appointment date and the guys at the ASC understand this well and are nice enough to let you in.

In some cases, people who have gone through walk-ins have received interview letters before the date of actual fingerprint date. It all depends on luck. Others go on the scheduled date and still get delayed months. Some others are lucky enough to get oath on same day of interview with total time line of less than 90 days.

The only concern I had was the fact that a couple of applicants from AZ area with NOA in Feb still haven't received Oath letters (or might have forgotten to update profiles) and that surprises me because the goal is 5 months.

I wish I am teasing, but nope.

Here's her link to her interview: http://www.visajourn...ship-interview/

Apparently, she got the Oath letter 2 days after her interview. And like I said, her oath date was not on KC's district court's website, so I assumed she had it done in Kansas.

You should ask her if she had the Oath done in KS instead of KC... ;)

I totally agree. USCIS claims 5 months to process N-400 applications but they can certainly take longer or shorter...

Haha, I think it did ...but I've been reading some posts in which people receive RFE because their interviews are carried on dates before the 3 or 5yr anniversary as PR. So the office delays the Oath until then. This worries me a little.

Definitely a step closer.

Yes - if you happen to get an interview date prior to the mark of your 3rd or 5th year residency, then they will give you a document that states that they cannot make a decision at that time. Your status will change to RFE but once you pass that anniversary date, they should update your case and approve you then you will get your approval and oath letters...
