Change of Address not acknowledged by USCIS?

Hi Guys!

I have a conditional residence and will be removing conditions in a month.

So, my husband (USC) and I moved about two months ago (April 1). On April 12, I filed the online AR-11 (Alien's Change of Address) and he sent the I-865 (Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address) received by the USCIS California Service Center on April 18.

My husband got a notice from the National Visa Center saying that they had received his "inquiry" because USCIS had forwarded his correspondence to them (NVC). Then they ask to direct our inquiries to the Lima Embassy, and mentions the details of mi K-1 Visa - fiancee visa, which we got approved more than two years ago.

I just got a notice from USCIS (I guess the California SC) reminding me that in a month I have to remove conditions on my residence. The thing is that they sent this notice to my old address (thank God the postal office forwarded to my new address)!!

Can you tell me why USCIS is confusing -in my opinion- everything and not acknowledging the change of address that we have complied to inform in due time? Should I do anything else?

Than you so much for your feedback.

Patricia

Same happened when we moved. 865 got an acknowledgement, AR11 did not.

Hi, Anh map.

Thank you for your feedback.

So you think that the notice that my husband got for his I-865 is correct? If it is, then I'll leave it there.

On the other hand, what did you do (are you doing) about the AR-11. I just don't want anything to slow down my removal of conditions that I have to start in a month!

Here's the thing, you're supposed to file it electronically AND in hard-copy form even though the instructions state just electronically is fine.. someone told me the reason it's best to do it both ways. Apparently the reason for this is because there are two systems and they don't really talk to each other... so sending both should make sure it's correctly updated. The hard copy form apparently updates the system that you got your automatic letter from, the e-file updates your . I changed my address and didn't get acknowledgement either but I did get TWO for my husbands I-865 :S

Hi Vanessa&Tony,

Oh, my God, two notices for your husband's I-865? really? Did those notices say what my husband's says? Is that normal?

I'll try calling USCIS today about the AR-11, I'll let you know if they were helpful in any way.

Thanks,

P.

So I called USCIS National Customer Service Center (1-800-375-5283) about my AR-11 not being acknowledged. The customer service representative told me that only people with pending applications get their address changed when an AR-11 is submitted. That USCIS will acknowledge my change of address when/if I submit and application (including my new address). And that only then, the system (whichever it may be) is updated.

So, I guess that even though I've complied with everything they ask, I'll still have to wait until I file my Removal of Conditions next month and get my first NOA to see where they'll send it. Hopefully, it will be to my new address. Jeez!!
