Hello everyone!

Me and my husband are confused and would like to "clear up" some stuff about the AOS and the IV package. We have looked at the LingChe link, but we're still a little unsure about it all.

We have paid AOS Fee. It shows PAID online.

We have recieved the IV Fee Bill. Not yet paid.

So if we got this right, are we suppose to send in a I 864/AOS package now? The barcode cover sheet have to be downloaded and then all the employment proof is sent to the NVC? And 1 copy is sent to the beneficiary?

Then the IV Fee Bill is paid? After sending the AOS package?

The IV package should contain the BARCODE cover sheet for the IV package generated after the Bill is paid?

Can we pay this IV bill even if AOS package is not sent in?

This IV package is the final package and includes marrige certificate, passport copy, birth certificate, police records, and DS 230 part I and II?

And then that is sent in to the NVC aswell, but AFTER AOS package is sent?

I thought the AOS Package and the IV Package was the same untill I read the LingChe, and now we're very confused. We dont want to do anything wrong, so we will slow the process down. Its all going really well.

I appreciate all help :) Thanks!!!

you can send it in either way, after you pay, and it shows paid , download the cover sheet then send it.......i waited and send both together, since their wasn"t but a few days apart from each other and they have to approve both anyways, plus it was just one express shipment overnight......just view my timeline and u can see it went pretty fast for us. .....

Please remember, the AOS and IV tracks are SEPARATE. They don't affect the other.

So, you can either send in the AOS package now, or wait till the IV is paid and send it together.

You can definitely pay the IV bill now. Again, it has NOTHING to do with the AOS package. The IV package can even be sent in BEFORE the AOS since they have nothing to do with each other. NVC will review whatever they receive first, whether it's the AOS or IV package.

As long as you pay both bills and send in both packages, NVC doesn't care what you do first. As long as you only send the packages after the bills appear as PAID since you need the bar-coded cover sheet, you're fine with whatever you do.

DS 230 is all about the beneficiary-- doesn't matter who fills in the blanks, but be sure the beneficiary signs part 1, but DO NOT sign part 2--that is done at the interview

for the IV package, can the beneficiary email the documents to the petitioner (i.e. police record, birth certificate, DS-230)? Just wondering so that we don't have to wait a week for it to arrive through the mail. Has anyone done this? Or can my wife send it directly to the NVC from Norway? Does it have to be sent from the petitioner?

You need to send originals along with a copy to the NVC, so email doesn't work at this time except for that handful of embassies doing electronic processing. It doesn't matter where things are sent from.

My wife is sending the DS 230 tomorrow. And we decided to send the AOS and the IV package together to the NVC. I hope it is okey, and that it won't slow down the process. We're really excited about these last final steps :)

hey there -

CIVIL DOCUMENTS for the DS-230 must be original or certified copies (certified from the issuing authority) and the DS-230 must be signed by the foreign spouse

so

no, alas, yer email scheme won't work.

Foreign spouse can send stuff to USCitizen Spouse, USCitizen Spouse can send it all in, no issues there.

Sending stuff round the world is tiresome, how about a nice Double Mango from Tastea ?
