Hi, I'm gathering/filling out forms to send my Moroccan fiance for his interview (will be in 3 weeks). I am confused about form I-864. From what I have read on the official government website, the I-864 is not needed at this point. It is submitted after the interview and K1-Fiance Visa approval, correct? Some have said send both forms, better safe than sorry. What is everyone's experience/knowledge of this? THANK YOU all!

Depends on the consul / embassy.

Some ask for it some don't.

I-864 is for after marriage in the USA when filing for AOS.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Casa has been known to require the 864 with the K1 petition.

Just this past week alone, there are been interviews and posts here as well that they were asked for both. Even if you call the Embassy they will say what is routine, however, when you get there it's a different story and they will say where is your I864. We had to show the I864 and nothing more. There is no harm in doing both, it will only put you further behind if you don't have it, and you will go into AP and who no how long that will take.

Just make sure you do both, why go into AP for not being prepared. Casablanca had us submit the I864 and others here too. Look at some post this week and see that they too had to submit both forms even though they only asked for the I134. I am sure those who just interviewed will let you know soon on here once they read your post.

Have a great day.
