Hi everybody, well our I130 petition is not approved yet and when my husband called last week the agent told him that he's gonna do a request of service for our case, I just wanna know what's that supposed to mean. Thank u all!!

i think it means they are going to try and review your case soonish, since you are past the 5 month mark after noa1.

They are sending a notice to find out what is going on with your case. I can tell you that in the past, after I have called for a service request...it didn't take long for me to get responses from USCIS.

i had a service request too, cos it took them longer than 5 months.

i think ours got approved about 1 month later.

I have had to do a service request more than once. The first time it was for my I130. They sent me an RFE (the 4 page thing) within a week of the service request. The second time it was when my case had been returned. That time, it took a couple of months before I got the approval in the mail.

It is hard to say how long it is going to take. Hopefully, it will be short for you.
