As always, there is a surprise. I mailed my application priority mail with delivery confirmation and I just checked on the status... this is what is says:

Status: Notice Left (No Authorized Recipient Available)

We attempted to deliver your item at 10:21 am on June 30, 2011 in DALLAS, TX 75222 and a notice was left because an authorized recipient was not available. You may arrange redelivery by visitingwww.usps.com/redelivery or calling 800-ASK-USPS, or may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice. If this item is unclaimed after 15 days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

i had the same message when i send my N-400 and a couple of hours later when i checked the status , someone had picked it up and signed for it. just give it some time.

I had the same issue I sent it on Friday and the next day on Saturday I had the same message. The USCIS worker got it the next day on Sunday.

I was nervous and I called US Post mail and they told me that there was nobody to sign. But I think if you sent it to that address it shouldn't be certified mail that's what makes it complicated. I sent it US Express mail - Waive the signature but still they/the post office had them sign for it.

If you guys want signature confirmation just send it to the USCIS express/courier delivery address and I bet there is gonna be no problem.
