Hi all.....

Is it possible to accompany ur fiance into the embassy for his or her K1 visa interview in US consulate, Lagos.....

Someone told me that petitioner can enter US embassy as US citizen but dont attend the interview, some say petitioner can be called upon, so whats really the deal?????

Also if the petitioner can make it to nigeria on the interview day, is it advicable to go with the fiance to the consulate on the day of the interview, even if the petitioner is not going to be interviewed...

Some sorta of question that i also await an answer even though it would be helpful to me in Months to come.I know US Citizens can be allowed into the embassy but i doubt if the petitioner would be allowed into the interview room, this is based on my interview experience for a students visa 3 yrs back.I bet things must have changed and the interview room now occupies both Pet & Ben.

I need a follow up on this thread

The USC is NOT allowed into the lines for the visa or the interview side of the house. You are allowed into the citizen side if you wish to wait there or need access to a real potty. Neither side allows cell phones so you will have to exit once in awhile to see if the interview is done

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

The USC will wait in a different waiting room. I don't know if it is advisable. I was not able to travel to attend my husband's interview yet he passed with flying colors. The beneficiary has to do the work of proving there is a genuine relationship. Couldn't really answer that question but I hope I helped.

I have heard from other VJ members it could strengthen the approval for the CO to know that the Petitioner is right there close by for moral support. But still as indicated here in the answers, the beneficiary will need to go into interview on their own.

Either way, being there would probably make the last 24hours prior to the interview easier, for the two of you are together to get each other through the wait...

Whatever you decide, I pray the outcome of your interview is a positive one. Good luck!
