Hi all,

My fiancee just received her K1 Visa. :D I just found out, however, that the she has to go to a counseling session? I was kind of blindsided by this. What else does she have to do before she can leave for the US? It's somewhat frustrating to find out that I missed this piece of information. The commute to Manila is a bit of a trip and I'm starting to feel bad about her having to travel so much. I feel like I'm flying blind here.

Where does she have to go for the counseling session?

Is it walk-in? Or is it by appointment only? Is there a flowchart specifically for the Philippines?

It would really help if someone could fill me in on the exact steps that we now need to take.

Thanks in advance!

It's called CFO, it just another scam by the Philippines to extract money from you.

They will push her to get to set up a bank account with BDO, and they will also show her pics and tell her about how woman from PI go to USA and get beat by their husbands and sold into prostitution rings or become sex slaves.

It' kinda Bull$hit, but they offer two places in Manila area, and it all can be done in one day

PRISM and St. Marys (St. Marys is easier to deal with), PRISM tend to be on a Power Trip.

Google CFO Philippines and learn all you need to know about times and locations...........

Thanks for the replies. Is there anything else that has to be done after the CFO session before she leaves the country?

As far as I know, that's it. She just needs to have the sticker from the CFO before boarding the plane. Without that, she can't leave the country. And yes, when I had my CFO before changing my passport into my married name, I had to attend the seminar. They will just ask her to watch some videos about foreign spouses abusing filipinas. I really don't like the way they do the seminar because they only shows bad videos. Plus, they will talk your fiance to open an account to either BDO or BPI. I didn't. They will just ask few questions about your relationship. It's like an interview process too (USEM interview) but there's no such thing as failing or passing it. After attending the seminar and paying for it, get the sticker and the certificates, and your fiance can go home.
