Ok, so I haven't heard anything about the status of my husband's case for quite a long time. Actually we hadn't heard anything since his interviews at the US embassy in El Salvador last May (2010). I tried to be patient, but then called and asked our lawyer. She said she called the embassy and was told his case had been transferred in June of 2010 to the Dept of Homeland Security. What?! What does this mean? Has anyone else heard of this. Please help!

It probably just means he is in administrative processing and going thru back ground checks.... try calling DOS... give them your case number and they can tell u if its pending or complete.... 202-663-1225

06/21/2011 Submitted requested docs..under review
07/25/2011 CO called did phone interview result: PENDING MANDATORY AP/CO told us they have to do namechecks

03/07/2013 Case returned to USCIS waiting for NOIR/reaffirmation

04/18/2013 USCIS received case for review

08/19/2013 Received NOIR to respond by 9/18/2013

9/9/2013 Responded to NOIR/USCIS received documents awaiting response

9/20/2013 USCIS reaffirmed sent to embassy

1/04/14 Case opened for review

8/31/15 Interview- no questions visa approved on the spot

9/8/15 visa status issued

9/10/15 visa received

9/19/15 POE Charlotte

Im actually not sure but at least call this number and find out... if its in ap they can tell you its pending etc....if its something else your lawyer should have told you this a long time ago since it was back in 2010... that's a long time without any information... hopefully someone else can come along and give you more insight...but start your questions with DOS... :)

I posted an update earlier, but I don't know where it went. Anyway, with our situation we had to file an I-601 waiver. This was done in May 2010. I haven't seen anyone talk about this type of waiver along with their experiences so if anyone would like to share I'm all ears! :thumbs:

They maybe doing a review on your waiver then im not sure....i would repost this exact question in the waiver section to see if you get any responses....im sure it would be seen there by many going thru the same thing...i wish you the best...

what visa type did he interview for , on interview day, last year?
