I have not received an interview notice yet for AOS. However, my online status says "Interview on July 28th at National Benefits Center". Does this mean I will have to travel there or it will be in San Diego??

The interview letter you receive will have the local office listed of where your interview will take place. It should be the one nearest to you.

My guess, and it is only a guess, is that you will not have an interview and you AOS will be processed at the NBC. However, if I am wrong and you do have an interview, it will be at the location closest to your home address as submitted on the I-485 form. Typically, the interview letter shows up about one month before the scheduled interview date. So the notice may be in the mail as I remember that we received a text message and e-mail stating they sent out a notice for interview and we should follow the instructions on that notice.

So wait a few more days and see if a notice shows up. I have been noticing that more and more people are having interviews for AOS and not having an interview is the exception--this is based on Igor's list which in no way is a true representation of all cases, but the vast majority of VJers have reported having interviews.

Good luck to you,

Dave

You're confusing NBC (Missouri) and CSC( California).

OP, it means you will have your interview at your local office.

Our email that we received for interview said the same thing. But when the letter showed up in the mail it said the interview was at the phoenix uscis office (not our closest office, but i think the only one in AZ?)

Just wait for the actually letter and it probably will say San Diego. Good luck.
