After waiting and waiting since June 9th, I found out where my husband's EAD Card is. Undeliverable! Seems like somebody screwed up. I just got off the phone with USCIS, and they are going to re-file and this could take up to 30 more days she said. All forms including the I485 case transferred came to us, but so far the EAD and AP seem to be an issue. I am sure there are plenty of these issues out there and I guess now I am just a part of them.

Anyone have any ideas of how long this is gonna take to get the EAD even though she said up to 30 days?

Thanks

USCIS sent me a RFE on May 26 and I found out it that the post office returned it to them as undeliverable on May 31 (mind you I've never had a problem with mail before and received mail from USCIS before). I called USCIS on June 1 and just as you stated, the rep said 30 days. Thankfully I got the notice resent a little over 2 weeks (May 17th).

Nothing is certain with USCIS, just hang in there and good luck :-)

Btw...the mess up with the undelivered mail was with the mail person. Apparently it was a different mailperson that day. I have since placed my name on the inside of my mail box....I cannot afford to have this happen again...it just causes delay and inconvenience

 We had problems with Roza's SSC and a notice from USCIS about her I-485. I sent a card to our address with my work address as the return address. After about two week s it showed up at work as undiliverable. We all expect the USPS to deliver properly address mail, BUT the employees take it upon themselves to decide if the person is living there are not. I asked the person at the postoffice about why this card with a proper address was returned. His first question to me was, "Is her name on the mailbox?" I countered with, "Why should that matter?" "Because your carrier isn't sure is should be delivered there?" "But the address is correct and according to your website all properly address mail is to be delivered." "I'd make sure her name is on the mailbox."

I should point out that she is using her maiden name and this was a substitute carrier. So the problem could be with the USPS. I wish the SSA would use a verifiable and trackable delivery method as USCIS is beginning to do. Then you can see what happened to the letter. I too put both of our name's on the inside of the mailbox.

Oh man Dave....I was soo pissed!! Like you said, the mail man took it upon himself not to leave the mail because he was not familiar with the name! WTH!! I made sure to inform the Post Office supervisor that I expect all my mail to be delivered to my address and I dont expect anything like this to happen again. He was very polite and helpful and told me he'll make sure nothing like this happens again and that no mail should be forwarded.

So because of this mail man's stupidity my case is now on hold...things were going so fast too :-(

Actually I prefer this and USPS is doing their job to stop 1. Mail fraud, and 2. identity theft. My husband was well aware of this issue and put my maiden name on our mailbox, no problem. With the amount of times people move around it makes sense to only deliver mail to people registered to receive mail there. I lived in an apartment complex and I can only imagine how awful it would have been in terms of mail for other people if this system didn't exist.

Ooo wow. Good on your for calling!! They say 30 days but as someone else said it's normally quicker than that. What exactly happened? Did they send it to the wrong place? Didn't send it?

Hi, when i got the email yesterday stating that the mail was undelivered, I said no freaking way. So I called USCIS talked with a lady read her my new update and she said well all I can do is fill out a case report and send it back off to where it was issued  I said can you tell me the address on file, she said not until after 30 days which is really close now. She said I will let you talk with someone regarding the track number if you want to see what happen. So I got the tracking number, went to USPS looked it up and sure enough it was sent out on June 15th and undelivered on June 17 no reason, and sent back and they received it June 27th. So I called USPS and she told me when it reads undelivered she said most likely the address was wrong or some times they just cannot read the information on the form due to whatever reasons. I pulled out all my forms to make sure I had the correct address on all the forms and they were fine on my end.

What makes me so angry about this process, right now there are open jobs available for my husband to look into and they are hiring as of now, and he would have a good chance of getting one of these as they hire so many international people (actually about 70% of them are from other countries.

I cannot even begin to tell all of you how patient my husband has been through all of this. Sitting at home countless hours while I work, bored as they all get, but he never gets upset and continues on each day with a smile. I have been very lucky to have someone comfort me through this entire process and give me hope that all will be okay.

Thanks for the replies.

The same thing happened to cousin's husband..His card was sent on june 10th and he still has not received it,probably because someone took it upon them self to determine that it was undeliverable, even though he's gotten mail before and not had a problem.
