You're asking the wrong question.

Even after obtaining the Unconditional Greencard your wife and step-daughter will be subject to residency requirements to maintain their status.

If you're long term plans don't include living in the US then it's probably best for you to either skip the LPR and just remain abroad with them or to make sure they can live in the US for just shy of 4 years (qualify for US Citizenship after 3 but IIRC there are complications with Columbia on that).

Actually, any absence from the US of over 1 year will require a reentry permit that must be applied for before leaving.

If you are living part-time in the US and part-time in Columbia don't be surprised if CBP refuses her entry at some point. The Greencard is meant for her to RESIDE FULL TIME IN THE US not split her time between 2 countries. This is true for both the Conditional (2yrs) & Unconditional (10 yrs) Greencard.

your 2 year card is Green Card too - so I am not sure what is your question.

Question is regarding maintaining LPR status and Removal of Conditions.

You'll be living in the US all the time. But it's okay if you want to take a vacation.

How many weeks of vacation per year can you afford?

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Physical Presence in the United States

“Physical presence” means that you actually have been

present in the United States. If you

are a permanent resident at least 18

years old, you must be physically

present in the United States for at

least 30 months during the last five

years (or 18 months during the last three years, if married

to a U.S. citizen) before you apply for naturalization.
