My interview is on the 12th July at the American embassy in London for a K1 visa. I have put together all the relevant paperwork but noticed for the I-134, my Fiancée could only supply me with the last years tax return and the last years W2.

She is a nurse and has quite a highly paid job and we are well above the poverty line required. We also have a letter from her employer for on going employment which states her salary, along with her last 6 months wage slips (I can get more if needs be).

She doesn't have the older one's and won't be able to get them in time for the interview date. Is this going to be a problem at the interview and will they deny my application because of this. Is there anything else that I, or my Fiancée can supply which may be acceptable or are we taking a massive risk as it's 3 years worth and no other exceptions?

Your help is appreciated.

Why not fax or visit the IRS office and obtain copies of the tax transcripts? Then she could scan them to you for the interview.

I agree  I am pretty sure London require tax return so get the transcripts from the IRS and she can send over to you in email. When did you get approved? You could have had all this done while waiting for interview.

Her taxes are Federal and there is not a local office she can go to. She is Wisconsin and the Federal tax office is in Washington. I don't really want to run the risk but I don't have a lot of choice.

I agree we should have done this before this time but the information on the USCIS website is not amazingly clear, neither is the US/UK Embassy website. It is only through forums such as these that we realised it may be 3 years we needed.

Na, have her check, if she lives in a big town there is an IRS office located there. I live in Louisville, Ky and just drove over to the office and had my tax transcripts in a matter of less than one hour (55 minutes of it was waiting).

"calling the IRS toll-free at 800-829-1040 and following the prompts in the recorded message.

There is no charge for the transcript and you should receive it in 10 business days from the time we receive your request.

Tax return transcripts are generally available for the current and past three years."

And I have heard they will fax them to you if you ask.

Sorry yes, she is telling me it is Government, rather than local. I can only take her word for it as I do not understand myself how it works. I will just have to suck it and see I think.

Ok well in that case my husband works for the government too retired Military and we were able to get his tax returns no problem. We are in Augusta GA and I am sure she can call or visit local IRS and as said can get the transcripts faxed to her. So yes she can get the 1040 no problem and w2

Yeah, she only needs to call the IRS.

She can request a copy of her last 3 year taxes to be send by fax; they will send it to her right away.I did so once and they faxed the transcripts to me withing 1- 2 hours.

So just tell her to try that option, and to just scan them and send them to you by email.

Good Luck :)

STOP reading these posts from people who have not interviewed at the London embassy. A tax return (or transcript) isn't even a requirement. If you did take 3 years, they would hand back all but 2010 and say "we don't need this." What you have is more than you will even need.

And to clear up the transcript discussion (not because you need one for London) here is the online request form. The transcripts will come in about a week. This online order can't be used if she has moved to a new address since she filed her 2010 tax return because they mail to the last address she had when she filed. If she no linger lives there, call the number they give.

She wants the Tax RETURN Transcript, not Tax Account transcript. She can order and have them for your AOS. http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=232168,00.html
