My husband had his interview today and basically it went well BUT he was put on AP.

They kept his passport and told him they will notify him in 5-6 weeks about results.

Do they keep the passport even if its a rejection?

Secondly,

I provided 2009 tax documents because I sent all of NO2 paper work before April, 14

my lawyer told me since i'm sending them documents before April that I can give

the 2009 tax papers and not have to wait for the 2010.

But at the interview the lady asked my husband for the 2010 and said the 2009 is not acceptable.

Should I curse my luck? my lawyer? or the lady interviewing?

:(

Just hang out with us then... :( we had to resubmit some documents too still dont know the actual approval yet and on mandatory ap as well... but we actually sent the 2010 1040 with w2's copies with the two other transcripts...so they accepted that... but i filed in Feb wasn't sure if they would have the transcript ready by then.

They also kept my husbands passport and gave him a token telling him to keep it so he can submit the other documents but keep it after so when the visa is issued he can receive it using the token.

Hang in there... there isnt' much else we can do...

I don’t know what to say, but big mistake not sending 2010 tax papers, you should have done that. Remember ISL embassy is tuff why make more tuff for yourself. Keeping the passport isnt grantee. My parents passports were return because of AP at the time of interview, but when AP done they called to resubmit. I also know they kept someone passport and then rejected. Just provide the documents as they have asked in interview. Good luck

I know. Although my lawyer told me if I filed the 2009 papers before April everything will be fine. It's only been a couple of days and I'm already depressed. I have a 7 month old daughter and I dont want her to be without her father. If the AP doesn't clear in a month, I might go back to Pak :(

Everything will be ok.... your love for your wife and daughter nothing can break this... just have faith and know that Allah will find a way for you to reunite with them asap... If we dont have faith and love...what else is there? Inshallah soon my husband and I will know too... the waiting i think is very emotionally draining.... but in the end being together is all that counts :)
