Our NOA2 was approved and NVC sent our papers to the Manilla embassy but never received a packet 3 from the embassy. After talking with the embassy, they had us complete form DS-160 online. The visa payment has been made and the receipt information was entered online via the DS-160 and an appointment date was made. My question is wether or nor the DS-160 replaces the DS-156, and DS-156k forms?

Here is what is on the Manilla embassy website: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Revised%20K1%20Instruction%20Packet%20_3__rtf2_001.pdf It is not clear to me if the DS-160 is a replacement for the DS-156.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello! I scheduled my interview online but I never filled up a form called DS-160, its not applicable for K1 visa. DS 156, 156K and 157 are needed and should bring it on your interview. And one more thing, never wait for the packet 3. It'll take forever to come.

Re you doing the K1 are you sure you are suppose to do the DS 160 this is what I found when I went to website

DS-160: Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application (for all nonimmigrant categories except K applications)

I agree to that, U.S. Embassy have told me that the DS-156 are no longer acceptable, just use the DS-160 form but then when i went to that site it said :

DS-160: Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application (for all nonimmigrant categories except K applications).

So,i only used the DS-156 form since it's only an applicable for the K category.

Good luck for both of us!
