Hi.

I have a question that i want to have answered...

We are getting married on July 16, and have discussed our names after the wedding. She will have my last name, but then we have talked about adding her mothers last name, because we both like it.

How are the rules to do this, when my fiance doesn't have the same last name as her mother right now. Is it easy to add to both of our names, so it will be [First Name]+[Mother Last name] + [My last name] ?

/ Martin

July 7 i will arrive in Atlanta -> Chattanooga. I'm so excited !

Check with the state you live in about what is required to legally change your name. Unless you legally change your last name now, before you get married, it will be seperate from name change associated with the wedding. If you change your name now, then it shouldn't cost anything (except for the usual things), when she takes your last name(s).

She can't just pluck a name out of thin air. If the name was never hers then she will need a legal name change (you too). If the name is already hers or was hers at some stage then it's possible.

If I were you I would stick with the standard name change, then apply for the name change before she ROC's and she can then get her new GC 10 year GC in her new name without paying a new fee.
