Hi,

I am a little confused as to how and when we will get an interview date. Does it come with the I-130 approval or does it come after the financial responsibility is approved?

Your petition will be sent after the approval of the I-130 (NOA2). Appointment schedule will be given after your case has been completed from NVC and depends on the availability of interview dates.

You can refer to timeline for some estimates. It varies though.. depends on how soon you finish the NVC process.

Isn't that you should have an appointment letter from the Embassy before you get a medical?

Ideally, yes. You should have the appointment letter from USEM. However, with the Philippine postal service, you'll probably get your appointment letter AFTER you get your approved visa! My stepdaughter received her USEM appointment letter almost three weeks after she received her visa.

All the applicant needs is the MNL case number (from NVC) and the applicant's passport. Most would recommend bringing any email or letter (from NVC) stating your MNL case number. I showed the IV receipt from the Dept of State, which had the case number. They accepted that.

Just keep calling NVC everyday. You should receive your NVC case number in about a week. I highly recommend reading this guide, if you haven't already. I read this thoroughly and followed it meticulously. It really reduced the processing time at NVC.
