I called up my embassy today, wanted to find out why NVC is taking so long. The NVC is late with notices. So chances are that if you've been waiting a month or more for NVC notice, don't wait. Call up your embassy, they probably have it there already. Mine was there so I'm very relieved now.

But if we're calling NVC everyday (not waiting on a notice), wouldn't they be able to give a case # before the embassy receives it?

I thought so aswell, thats why I didn't call sooner. But it turns out that they have trouble mailing out notices. They do process your petition, they just slack with the notices so basically you have no clue what's going on. Try your embassy, it worked for me, if they don't have it you can still keep asking NVC, got nothing to lose. Also in the meantime, while you're waiting for a package from the embassy, you can do your medical and obtain the rest of the paperwork. They will tell you what you need at the embassy, so you can acquire some paperwork and do medical before you even get the package from the embassy. I got the medical scheduled for this wednesday and I barely called today!

It doesn't look like you've filled out your timeline; when did you receive your NOA2 and from which service center?

Just got off the phone with NVC. They received my case today. No number yet since it hasn't been entered into the system but its definitely there. Awesome. A month later but better later than never. Hopefully will be out of there by Friday.

Great news, congrats! That gives me hope too. Were they able to acknowledge that they've received the case by entering in your USCIS Receipt #? I thought only those already assigned NVC Case #s would pull up in their system...

Well the automated system does not have info in K1 Visas.... I had to speak with an operator and she was kind and said that yes they have it but it has not been entered into the system.. to call back on friday and get the number... i am hoping it will leave nvc by friday as well... i really hope to know the interview date in about 2 weeks

Makes sense. I haven't been using the automated system either. Keeping my fingers crossed that this is the week for both of us! Good luck.

Been 27 days now and still nothing! Called NVC again today and asked me to email the copy of my approval notice to nvcresearch@state.gov. I doubt it would kind of speed things up, but at least it's better than me doing nothing and just waiting. Congratulations to everyone that just recently got their case numbers from NVC!

My case was approved in June 16 and still no papers in NVC!
