You can add me as of August interview. We received an interview expedite and just yesterday the Embassy gave us the appointment. The thing is that still NVC has not sent documents to the Embassy !!!! and time is running short !!!!!!!

One question, do we need to give the Port of Entry at the Interview ? How long the transfer has to be if the stop in the first city of the US is not the final destination ? Is it possible to come from Spain to Canada and then make the POE at the Detroit Bridge or Tunnel ? We found a very cheap flight from there

06/22/11 NVC Case Number Assigned

06/23/11 Paid AOS Bill and Immigrant Visa Fee

07/19/11 Sif.Thought case was complete but it was not !!!!

07/20/11 RFE on the phone - Documents J-1 of my daughter and missing information by lawyer

Congrats on all the recent approvals!!!

Sorry I haven't been on here much since my interview...been busy packing up my life lol!

POE is in 3 days (Wed 24th)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those that just got approvals...hope your POE goes smoothly!! And for those with interviews still to come - Good Luck!!

18 Apr 2011 - APPROVED!! NOA2 text and email

29 Apr 2011 - Case entered into the system/Case number assigned; Medical Exam in Sydney

30 Apr 2011 - Police Check Application sent

2 May 2011 - Called NVC and got Invoice ID number

3 May 2011 - Sent DS-3032 email

4 May 2011 - Received email reply from NVC for DS-3032; Received Medical Exam results

5 May 2011 - AOS invoiced and paid

7 May 2011 - AOS package sent; IV invoiced and paid

9 May 2011 - AOS package delivered to NVC according to tracking

20 May 2011 - RFE for missing IV package....still waiting on Police Certificate!

24 May 2011 - Received Police Certificate after 25 days (so much for 7-10!); IV package sent

27 May 2011 - IV package delivered according to tracking

8 Jun 2011 - RFE for original marriage certificate; requested supervisor review since we KNOW it was in the package!

To answer your question....no, they probably won't ask you what your POE will be. It doesn't make any difference to them where it is. They may ask you when you are intending to travel though.

I have never done a land crossing (hehe....i have to fly 13hrs from Australia just to get to LAX....and that's not even my final destination lol!). It don't think flying to Canada then doing a land crossing into the US would be a problem....just make sure you check out any visa requirements for transiting through Canada though. I don't know if they require people to have a visa or not if they are just passing through on the way to somewhere else. If you don't go that way but instead fly directly to the US somewhere, then connect to your final destination, you will probably need to allow a good couple of hours layover, depending what airport you fly into.
