Waiting for an Interview

If our case is complete and we are waiting for the interview date to be setup by NVC in Kiev Embassy, is there really a way to speed up the process? It seems that there is nothing one can do by speaking to NVC or DOS operator. (DOS operators seem to be friendlier and more talkative but the result is still the same) They are ready when they are ready. You can not ask for anything. You will hear from them when the time comes. I don't see any way to speed up the process in case there are indeed sudden cancellations that free up appointment slots at the Embassy. All of the initiative to take advantage of that remains in the hands of NVC.

I can wait if that's what it takes, just want to make sure that I am doing everything I can to make things go as fast as possible.

Join the military and get assigned to the front lines. Then you can speed up the process.

Short of that, you're doing all you can now by waiting and not getting impatient.

Do you have all your documents ready to send for the interview?

I am too old for the military and not looking forward for my second term anyway :-)

What documents? All of the documents required for the interview are already submitted to NVC. There is an optional "evidence" that one can bring to intimidate the interviewer, but even that was also included in the packages set to NVC. At one point I asked NVC that question and they have told me that this is so.

Go to the Embassy website; there should be other documents that will be mailed to your fiancee plus read the Guides as you have documents to complete and send to her....like the updated letter of intent and the 134 support documents plus pay check summaries and tax transcripts or copies of returns.

Never mind. just checked, you're doing the CR-1 and not a K-1. I think you're good to go then.

I've got e-mail notification from NVC that the interview was scheduled in August. Interestingly, their e-mail notification messages usually come out at night. In my case, I gained nothing by calling them and inquiring about my case. Everything happened at their discretion and on their schedule.

Once the document package is in the embassy in Kiev, then perhaps one could try to call the call center and see if the interview date can be re-scheduled sooner.
