CR1/iR1 Applicants with No Income/Assets

My situation is like this: for the last few years, I have taken care of my disabled Mom. So, I have not worked (or filed taxes), and have minimal assets. My Mom will be co-sposor. Her income/assets are WAY over the 125% for a household of 3. Nonetheless, I DO plan on going back to work after my wife gets here. My wife does home based work, we have discussed it extensively, and she has no problem keeping an eye on Mom while I am at work.

I am looking for any advice on how to 'strategize' my financial situation. Since my co-sponsor has things well covered, will they care? Should I include a statement with my financial filing of why I haven't worked, and my intent to work when my wife comes over?

I would love ton hear from any who have, or know of someone who has filed and succeeded with no income.

college students who are USCitizens sometimes have this same problem, perhaps you can find members here using advanced search tool or member tool or even the google custom toolbar, and then study what they did ?

Will try that, although college 'excuse' is more common/usual, so I suspect easier to justify. I plan on getting a job when she comes over, she is college educateted/fluent in English (so is very unlikely to ever become a public charge), and Moms finances cover more than the minimum. However, I am 'gun shy' about a Guangzhou CO making the wrong assumptions, so I want/need to put this in the best light up front.

you have some time to research this, thankfully. - it's not required until the I-864 is submitted at NVC.

Make a focused plan for research, aye? Then do yer plan.

A statement explaining any "out of the ordinary" situation never hurts IMO. A letter from your co-sponsor as well would be a good idea.
