So who is Niblet? Is he AJ, madtownguy, or Daniel99?

none of the above, already had it checked by admin. not a previous user, so that theory can be put to rest.

"The man is the boss."

I heard they teach that in Filipina school. Check with your nearest Fil-Am community center for the next scheduled refresher course.

Even if that were true - I wouldn't sign up. no0pb.gif

Inside our home = I don't have to think very much. (for the most) I am presented options to choose from. & The hardest part = getting Asawa Ko to make the choice for me. laughing.gif

It's nice to have some "Ignorance is Bliss" space. There is no way I'm ever giving that up. wink.png

Geez.

I'm glad I didn't marry a self-centered American who believes his opinion is the only one that matters.

And puh-lease, there is a fine line between being a submissive wife and being just plain helpless. Just because you get the final say, doesn't mean she thinks you're right... She may just be thinking why even fight it, she can't win over a controlling husband anyway.

“The fact that we are here and that I speak these words is an attempt to break that silence and bridge some
of those differences between us, for it is not difference which immobilizes us, but silence.
And there are so many silences to be broken.”

I wish this thread was still about the title. I would have been glad to hear more stories of how people met and share the story of how I met my fiancé. Too bad it turned so off topic..

It is a thread from two years ago that I resurrected at the suggestion of one of the mods. Zombie threads may be hijacked at will.

Don't be shy, tell us your story. You'll add some value to a long-dead thread. It's always nice to hear success stories.

Ok. Well, in that case, my fiancee and I were literally cross-the-street neighbors since birth. My family and I emigrated to the States when I was 5. Did not go back home until 26 years later, but we kept in occasional touch. What brought me back home, funny enough, was my nasty set of teeth. What was originally a money-saving effort to diagnose and treat my teeth turned into a rekindling of a love we felt for one another all this time, but never quite expressed.

That is cool. I have some friends who are similar to you, lived close when they were kids. Went to kindergarten together, dated off and on throughout school, and finally got married. Have been together for about 38 years, married for 19.
