helpsmilie.gif HI everyone! Our I-130 was approved June 22 and we are still waiting the nvc case number. I want to make sure I understand the next steps at nvc! I get my case number, then call and give them my husband and my email addresses. Then file the DS-3032 by mail and email both? When they except the ds-3032 then I can pay first fee of $88 online and send the AOS by mail then the payment of $404 and send the Iv package? Is this correct steps or can I send both payments at one time and both I files at the same time? I think I am confusing myself I just want to do everything right the first time and the fastest way too! Thank's for all your help! smile.gif O and also when I do the AOS I have both my parent's in my house hold so they are doing an I-864a do they also have to do a I-864 or is it just me the petitioner that will do the I-864? I have the last 3 yrs of my tax papers but they only have the last 2 yrs will it be ok to just send the last 2 of their's and my last 3yrs? I also have check stub's of my dad's and a letter from his retirement plan of the last 3 yrs of annual salary. We will also have letter's of employment, will this be all the info we will need? I know the AOS is the most important step and want to make sure we have everything correct the first time. My dad's income alone is well over the proverty guidelines so the income is not a concern just don't want to leave something out because we know we are over the guidelines for income then end up they want more info... Thank's again for any advice! rose.gif Edited by mjlassi

Grats on your I-130 approval!

Here's a quick summary of the NVC process:

-get case number and IIN

-send DS-3032*

-pay AOS bill once available

-once bill appears as PAID, you can send the AOS package

-pay IV bill (will only appear once the DS-3032 has been accepted)

-once bill appears as PAID, you can send the IV package

*It's much easier if you just email as NVC will receive and accept it within a few business days instead of taking much longer if mailed. Follow the template here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form

You mentioned that you can only pay the $88 fee once the DS-3032 has been accepted. That's wrong. The AOS bill isn't dependent on that form. It'll appear within a few days of getting your case number. The only thing that's dependent on the DS-3032 is the IV bill. It will NOT appear until the form has been accepted.

You can't pay the bills at the same time unless you don't pay the AOS when it first appears and wait until the IV one appears. Other than that, you can't pay them at the same time as the AOS bill will always appear first since the IV is dependent upon the acceptance of the DS-3032. This is untrue if you have a lawyer though. The lawyer is always automatically chosen as the choice of agent, so both the AOS and IV bills appear at the same time.

Now, you can send both packages at the same time if you wish to do so. Just don't send the AOS package once the AOS bill appears as PAID. Wait until the IV bill appears as PAID, and then you can put both packages in the same envelope and mail that. Just make sure it's clearly marked which package is which inside.

For the AOS, you have to file an I-864, and then both your parents file an I-864a.

For the tax papers, only the most recent tax year is required, so if you don't have all 3 years, it's ok as it's just optional.

Don't forget to include a birth certificate or US passport to prove your parents' legal status in the US. And I'm not sure, but you might also need their marriage certificate.

Hello There,

I have my I-130 Ok-ed on May 31st & I still don't have a case # @ NVC... the USCIS says that its in route from CSC....it's in sane....I hope yours reaches them sooner....

The steps you mentioned are correct, but they have to be done in turn. You can't submit both at the same time. As far as the sponsor papers - You need to file one for you (if you are the original petitioner) then another packet for the additional sponsor (whoever it may be)... Good Luck!

IIN = Invoice Identification Number

It's required to sign onto the payment portal to pay the AOS and IV bills and to print the barcoded cover sheets after they appear as PAID.

ya, you are 'circling nvc', trying to 'get in'

call once a day, till you get the #. Suggest 10 PM EST, M-F.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Have you been calling an operator? The AVR is slow to update and it could be a case number has already been assigned. I'd suggest calling an operator at least twice a day to see if a case number has been assigned. Never rely solely on the AVR as you could waste a few days.

No problem. I was able to get my case number within 7 days from my NOA2 by speaking with an operator. But the AVR only updated 2 or 3 days later about my case number. So operator is always better than relying on the AVR as they'll know sooner than the AVR as I noticed throughout my NVC process that the AVR always took 1-3 days to reflect things.
