Figured someone here has used this Remote Support to do what I want to do (help mom clean up her system remotely). When I was able to connect to the host server from my end (as would she), no connection could be established between our programs. I kept getting asked to revise my proxy settings from within the program (keeping the recommended web server setting to no effect most of the time), and never before have I had this problem on the same network I was on. Help?

Never heard of teamviewer until today. That's not a good thing.

I googled it and I now know what it is, but I still have never heard of it. May I suggest an alternative that is a bit more well known? crossloop.com

Thanks for the advice. I downloaded the program from download.com (cnet). It has extremely high ratings and for the most part is really easy to use. The problem was an IT thing in the office, so I took care of mom's issues from home.

The IT dept at your office likely blocked the required ports.
