I was there in 1998 when Alaskans voted to amend the Constitution to outlaw same-sex marriage. A state where smoking a joint is considered to be civil liberty still can't get most of its citizens to support gay marriage. It's a hardcore place. Don't let anyone tell you different.

Sounds pretty contradictory. That implies a certain level of mental fvckedupness if they want to outlaw something that doesn't affect them yet permit something that apparently they do frequently and leads in many cases to certain mental effects- among them: paranoia and psychoses.
