No, you're not wrong. Of course, now they're trampling on Sarah Palin for presiding over huge voter fraud in Alaska in 2008.

LOL... the same year Sarah got voted in, half a dozen state senators got indicted for bribery. They are now doing fed time. Some took bribes as little as $1,000 including the ex bartender at Sully's bar who also doubled as a state senator..Beverly Masik. Google her. When she wasn't running the Ididirod she was also playing politician and bartender. We have a uber corrupt government here.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Have the intelligence to participate in early voting or vote by mail if its available. If you are legally permitted to vote as a part-time resident, and you don't like it- take it up with the Alaska legislature.

Part-time residents are not legal voters. I already told the story about how my friend, a legal resident and registered voter, was refused the right to vote simply because of how she dressed. This is not a place where your assumptions about anything, including the viability of the Postal Service, are valid.

Voter fraud in AK is as old as AK.

Did you ever hear of the "Petroleum Club" when you were here ? It was a club/bar that was attached to Sea Galley's and before that the Capt. Cook Hotel. It's where all the decisions for Alaska were made...in a smoke filled room full of booze and old corrupt oil men and politicians. They moved the Petroleum Club to mid town but nothings changed...it's still all done there as usual.

I got a government job in the Governor's office by invitation without even trying. It's incredibly easy to get a state job there. I got a new one each time I returned from Asia.

Everyone, including part-time residents. As long as they're legally eligible to vote, you have nothing to whine about.

You can get a state ID and/or AK drivers license up here with a utility bill and nothing more. Iv'e even seen it done with a Costco card. Now think on that one.

I think I missed that. I was probably still getting over how anchors sometimes drank on the air. And, how after 10 minutes, they told jokes because there was no more news.

So it seems you have explaining to do as to how ineligible voters vote. Fraud? Seems like its something not unique to Alaska. Can it be reformed?

Again, if a registered voter is denied suffrage, the voter should have sued based on present Federal laws protecting such rights.

But disturbing is your assumption that my legal presumption is based on anything more than legal principle, and winnable given real evidence other than conjecture. As is the case anywhere else.

Seems like reform is in order. Think about what that says about the system you have and the officials your current electorate votes for. I doubt most of them pack up and leave to go elsewhere, as there would be telltale travel records showing yearly mass migrations.

Ah, isn't that how the libs want all state election eligibility to be handled?

Funny. Isn't voter disenfranchisement a GOP specialty?

The arguments presented by people who don't know Alaska are based on experiences in places that bear no relation to how things work in Alaska. It's just so different there. Like I said before, assume it's more like Afghanistan and go from there.

Alaska is a State of the United States, where Federal election laws apply.
