Anchorage is full of gays. They all hang out in one bar. That bar also has the city's post office and the mayor lives there too.

And given the excess guys to gals, it might be time for a second bar. Isn't capitalism great?

I refer you to my earlier post - your Alaskan rag is reporting the very same thing. I suppose they don't know Alaska either? Only you and Sofiyya know.

The Anchorage Daily News is a liberal and biased rag owned by the Mclatchy News Service. No idea if you ever heard of them (google them) but the are out of California and hated by most Alaskans. That's the Anchorage paper. For valley news (Wasilla, Palmer, Big Lake, Willow, etc..) then you want to read (online also) the Matsu Frontiersman. It's our kind of paper. Hockey scores, oil prices, police reports, farm report, fishing report, hunting report, etc.. and no lib bs for little meterosexual pansy's.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Local media disagrees with you as well. I suppose The Anchorage Daily News is close enough to the state, yes? In 2008, over 320,000 votes were cast in Alaska. Seeing that your total population is only slightly above 700,000 and seeing that a portion of that population isn't eligible to vote, the officially reported voter turnout of 65.5% would appear to be right and you, again, would appear to be wrong.

Well, no. The state doesn't even know who really lives there. Between valuable fishing licenses and distribution of the permanent fund, there's lots of residency fraud.

They do it all the time up here (including my dad) so they can collect a PFD check. It's free money so why not? Also my dad ...and others like him get their tags for their cars/trucks up here so they don't get reamed for tags like down in Washington state. It's done up here a lot.

So, you all believe everything you read in the paper?

Electoral and polling results must clearly be manipulated by the press to further the gay agenda.

These are crimes, yes?

When I was there, we used to take turns reporting the news. You could go down to the station and ask to be on the newcast that night and they would let you do the news. A lot of people liked doing sports. I'm not kidding. That's how loose Alaska journalism is.

Yep it's a crime and it's a common one at that. There's a lot of money at stake...not so much for the PFD checks but for the Commercial fishing license which are worth millions for a single permit depending on what area it's for, not to mention hunting and fishing guides...that's another big money business.

Criminals are not entrusted with carrying truth and honesty all that well. Think about that for a moment.

They still do that. I got to do the radio here for two weeks while Adam the radio dude went back to Wisconsin to visit his family.

Yes, when I worked for the AK Dept. of Fish and Game, a lot of the job consisted of investigating residency fraud. A lot of voters don't live there, they just pretend to to get the goodies and probably vote in both Alaska and where they live.

And I take it that the Frontiersman makes up their own numbers rather than reporting the official results? That sheds some light on why can't seem to get any of the facts straight. Your newspaper doesn't deal with facts but prints what fancies your prejudices. Awesome.

I swear, Alaska is not like NYC. When you think it's anything like what you know, you're off base. Watch the first two seasons of the TV show "Northern Exposure" to get even an idea of what it's like. They nailed it.

Alaska is one of those places where you can show up and say "I'm a journalist" or "I'm a teacher" and they'll let you do it without much effort to prove that you are what you say you are. That's how I got to be a school teacher
