I saw the numbers the other way around- 2000 census, 107 males per 100 females.

Probably more women than guys with paranoid delusions about the guvmint looking for them and their guns. End result: even more guys than gals.

There's more guys then gals up here for the fact it's commercial fishing, oil, mining and logging that makes the wheels turn up here. With out those big four...Alaska would be nothing more than a barren ice field. Again you no nothing of Alaska and what it takes to make it up here...and it shows in your post.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

You kind of become a bigot when you start talking about knocking people out.

Definitely one with issues. But no... that kind of behavior appears to be condoned by him. And that reeks of a little psycho problem. Cabin fever and Freudian sexual behavior? Hmmm.

Alaska's not NY, not even close. It's hard to imagine how different it is if you've never lived there, but gayness is not going to be near the top of most Alaskans' list of things to be PC about. In fact, PC isn't on their lists.

It also has the highest suicide rate is believe too.

Like I said, I never claimed expertise on those issues. I am not sure what you're reading, but that certainly shows something about you and your mind as you post.

I believe we were speculating on the male to female ratio as it stands, not why it is what it is. Any other discussion has hovered around perhaps what could be prime material for cultivation of certain latent behaviors given the accessibility of sexual mates- and macho men sometimes tend to act out to hide their gayness. Just saying, not judging.

You made a stupid statement as to why there were more males to females and I set you straight on that one so spare us the bs post like the one quoted here and save the #######.

People get drunk and shoot their guns off in the wrong direction.

We lead in suicide, alcohol consumption per capita, assualts per capita, rapes, etc... It's not like it's a cake walk...you know that. H*ll I can remember a few times when we got ran into the Magistrate in Anchorage on 4th ave and all he asked was how much $ we could give him and still have enough cab money to get home. That's when you would hand your gun over to the cop so he could take out the bullets and then he would hand it back to you as long as you promised not to shoot anyone on the way home.

Sounds lovely. I think I'll stay in NYC with our "gay #######".

I've also lived in liberal bastions like NYC and DC. I'd say people there are even less open minded than in Alaska. If you don't think as the libs in those places do, then you get beat down and shunned. I don't see much difference between them and Alaska as far as rigid attitudes go, except that you get the gay forced on you in lib places and not forced on you in Alaska.

I'm in the majority...like big time majority.

Rather a slim majority. As of August 2010, support for gay marriage in Alaska was well in line with the support across the country - a slight majority against. That tide has since turned nationally and I would suspect that in Alaska - having been right within the national trendlines all along - that turn has either also occured by now or is close to occuring.

45% of Alaskans support same sex marriage

Yes, come here and tell them that. Most of us don't vote. In fact the ones who do vote are the Christian wingnuts (Baptist, Mormons, etc..), and then on opposite side of them you have the few libs up here. The majority of us who are in the middle of those two groups rarely if ever vote. Now if they moved the voters booths to the bars the voter turnout up here would be off the hook...but they don't.

Don't like it, don't read it. But I note your 'offense' might have something more psychologically rooted. I wonder what that could be.
