Anita,

You don't have to be good looking and/or have class to know the dangers of hiring hookers.

"Danger of hiring hookers" ? wth ?

Hide your wallet before you pass out on the booze and drugs so they can't roll you. What other dangers are there ?

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

You don't have to be good looking or have class to know the dangers, but you do need to be well informed and receptive to potentially #######-blocking information.

Sure, I've been to most states. Not Alaska though.

Do you notice "gay #######" going on other places outside of NYC? Maybe I don't care enough or pay it enough attention. I don't even notice it in the city. Maybe Kip notices it because it's so rare where he lives or Alaska is like Iran.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

I work construction ...oil field mainly and if anyone that works in that field is gay, they aren't open about it for the fact it isn't accepted. It's not like we have gay people up here being open about being gay...other than Anchorage maybe where they have their own gay bar. I was raised on a farm in a farming/logging community (small town) and there was never any talk about gay people back then unless it was jokes. But all that aside, I don't agree with that lifestyle.

Listen, Why_Me is right that Alaska is way different than some of the lower 48. It's a pretty concentrated macho culture where you're more likely to see women coming out as lesbian than men coming out as gay. I'm not saying there aren't gay men there, I'm sure there are, but the respect you get even for being metrosexual is slim to none due to the highly utilitarian culture. I never met an openly gay person the whole time I lived there.

That he's so openly against gay marriage is no surprise considering that, but you don't have to be from there to be against it. I'm against it, too.

Why_Me I've been thinking about your hatred of gays and I've come up with a theory. I think the reason you act like your wife is an object is because you did some "gay #######" while you were working in the middle of nowhere without women and now you're seriously ashamed of it and try to make up for it by being ott with the "macho" stuff. It's ok to be gay. It's ok to do gay stuff. Don't be ashamed anymore.

The term for that is 'latent homosexuality', a guy who overexaggerates his masculinity to compensate for gay feelings deep down that he is both ashamed and in denial of. It's one of those weird psychological things where a person simultaneously loves and hates themselves.

Given the overwhelming options in outstanding males such as yourself they have up there I wouldn't be surprised many turn to lesbianism. I am sure that might not have much to do with your selecting an outsider...

Sarcasm aside, her remarks haven't been venomous about lesbians as what bigots have already shared with us beyond their personal (and hypocritical) code of morality.

Not even. Why do you think I shopped out this time. Any chicks up here that are even half way decent are high maintenance and the chances of landing one are slim to none...unless you got a bag full of coke and/or loaded with money. It's mainly about survival here...it's not like we are keeping up on the trends.

When Minnesota is growing apples in the spring, we still have snow and our bay is still froze over. People that have never lived here don't have a clue and most likely never will. I read about Pit Bulls attacking peeps in the lower 48, yet I shot two brown bears here in town since I moved here. I had a sow and cubs walk through my yard on almost a daily basis last summer on their way to the beach for the salmon run.

Nah, his attitude has nothing to do with latent homosexuality. You guys need to accept the fact that in some places, that's just how heterosexual men talk.
