Does he make enough to sponsor my wife?

I have a friend thats willing to sponsor my wife. I am a full time student and have no income. He makes $10 per hour as a care-giver in an old age home. He works from 30-34 hours per week. Would this be enough or no??? He is from the state of Florida

Your friend needs to make $16,500 to be able to sponsor your wife. That's assuming his household size is 1 right now. That's around 35 hours a week at $10 an hour. I would say NO!

Can you get one more person to help?

In order for your friend to be a joint sponsor (you are the primary sponsor, regardless of your income), his annual income must be no less than 125% of the federal poverty line for his household size.

These are the 2011 Poverty Guidlines.

I think you are supposed to include both people... 125% poverty level for household size of 2 = $18,387. The assumption is that he could sustain himself AND the other person.

30 hours x 52 weeks x $10 = $15,600.

I agree with teh previous post: I would recommend you find an additional sponsor.
