Hi All,

My friend asked me to be her interpreter at her and her husband's AOS interview, but I had to decline. I'm not confident enough in my language skills to pull it off and I wouldn't want to risk their immigration. Their second choice is her father (she is the petitioner). Is it okay to have a family member as your interpreter at the interview, or does it have to be someone that is of no relation to either party?

08-26-2010 Email from USCIS EAD Card Approved

09-03-2010 EAD card received!!!

09-08-2010 Notification of interview date (Oct 12th, 2010)

10-12-2010 Interview-Approved!!!!!

10-26-2010 Green Card Arrived!!!!!!!!

No USCIS till 2012. Wohoooooo

A relative is generally fine, so long as they are over 18 and a legal resident. (People who can't be the interpreter: the petitioner, the attorney, or a foreign government official.)
