I864 forgot to send 1 document to NVC

Hi Visajourney, I got a question. I forgot to include a piece of document in the I864 packet when I mailed it to NVC. I think I will most likely get a RFE for that. Can I send in the missing document before I get the RFE? If I can mail it in now, how will I do it? Thanks all

No, you cannot send in the document before getting a RFE. The reason why is that NVC is not looking for your document ATM, and it may get misplaced before it gets added to your file. It's better to wait, and since you know it's likely coming, you can get it in the post day of or day after the RFE.

actully, if you include the barcode coversheet AND a cover letter along with yer stuff, NVC will accept it, it'll get to the casefile.

NVC keeps accepting things on casefiles for some time - I say don't wait for the checklist letter at all.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Actually I forgot to send in a statement as to why I did not file tax year for 2008 & 2009. I was unemployed in 2008 & 2009. My business just started in 2010 so I only sent in 2010 tax. On the I864 instruction form says that if I did not file any of the 3 recent year then attach a written explanation as to why I did not file. Well I just called NVC earlier today and spoke with an operator. The operator told me to write the statement then scan it and email it to NVC. I am not sure if they will accept the scanned statement. Hopefully the operator know what shes talking about.
