i thought, for a K-1 visa, the DS-230 Part I, is SIGNED on interview day, in front of a visa officer? Yes? No? (I'm gonna reread the OF-169 instructions, just to certain)

Yup, my bad, sorry - K-1 visa applicants sign the Part I signature block, then mail it in (CR and IR fill out but not sign part II)

James has the right idea - to send off a new packet, with the DS-230 signed on Part I.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

DS-230 part 1 is signed before it is submitted to the NVC. DS-230 part 2 used to be signed in front of the VO at the interview, but that doesn't seem to be the case now. Several people recently have asked about this because their spouse didn't sign anything at the interview even though the letter says to bring the original. It was never handed over during either the document drop off or the interview. My wife wasn't sure if she signed a copy that the consulate had at the document drop off, but when I emailed the consulate they said they had everything they need.
