London & CR-1

When our case complete was handed down, we cancelled our K3. Now I'm beginning to think we may have made a mistake. Our CR-1 case left NVC on 8/29, but London still has no record of it. Is this normal? Our K3 was received and packet 3 sent out so quickly that I'm starting to worry about the CR-1. How long did it take for them to receive your Cr-1/IR-1 case? I've had enough stress with this process that this is finally breaking me. I just want to cry. I know I'm also a little uptight because hubby's medical was today and I haven't heard from him yet. Any input would be greatly appreciated.....

In the meantime, I'm off to practice breathing excersises.

Don't worry yourself, little one! You have no reason to worry yet.

I recently received my Choice of Agent form DS-3032. It was dated a Monday and I received it a week from that Friday, so two weeks all but a weekend.

Now consider that the case complete is likely to be a much bigger and heavier package than the wimpy little Choice of Agent thing.

And consider that it's obvious they use stingy tenth-class mail!

Also consider that your case might well be sitting in the Embassy postroom. Someone's got to open it, take it to the right department then it has to land on a desk, be read and entered on the system.

It's not time to worry yet!

When it reaches three weeks, I'd try to find out what's going on but would really only worry after that.

Also, could you let me know how your hubby's medical went and what it was like? Wee bit nervous about this bit!

I guess this wouldn't be the time/place to say: Have you read any other London posts? It seems normal for cases to take one month to be entered in London's queue.

Keep breathing. :)

thank you both for the support! I'll give them another week. I guess I was just thrown off by the speediness of our K3. Luckily he's coming to visit in 2 days and I'm sure that will make me feel better ;)

Thanks, Munchkins! I'm so glad it's finally moving for you!

englishamericanvisa...here's his abbreviated account of the medical!

I just got back, got chips on my lap, burning my knees. It was easy really. I

found the place with an hour to spare, wandered round for a bit getting

nervous. Then arrived a bit early, passed over my form, my passport, and

the visa photo. Filled out another form. Then got called into x-ray room.

That was easy. Shirt off, chin here, shoulders forward, breathe in. Click.

Got called into nurse for vaccination history. Had 2 jabs - Tetanus and

MMR. So then the doctor weighed me measured me did an eye test.

She asked me then to strip to my pants, english ones, and lie down on

the couch. She listened to my heart, felt around for a bit, looked in my

ears, tested reflexes and eeekkk pulled out a syringe again and stole my

blood. I was sent out to reception again ...oh after

getting dressed that is. :P

Then I paid for the med and vaccinations and made my way

back to the train.

Hi I just wanted to tell you not to stress out (EASY to say i know), I was doing exactly the same when our CR1 case completed at the NVC on the 4th of August. I was totally panicking and afraid it got lost!! I called the US embassy in London almost everyday to ask if they had received it - you can imagine how much that cost!! But they eventually received it on the 24th of August. I could not belive it wod take that long.

So dont worry its quite normal for it to take a couple of weeks until they have your case in the systems. I am right with you.

I booked my medical as well , Just wanted to ask you when I called to book it the lady said I will need to bring the forms I received from the embassy (packet 4) but I have not received packet 4 yet. Ihave scheduled the medical for end of September - so does that mean if I dont receive the packet 4 by then I need to reschedule it? I will have to reschedule it 3 days before the date otherwise they do charge an 80 pound fee!! :o

Just wondering how come ur husband went to his medical did you receive your packet 4 by then? or did you use it from you K3? Thank you so much for your help!! ps Im really happy for you that your hubbys medical went well!!! Your almost there now :)

MrsWhizz, try not to stress it took us a few weeks to hear that London had received our paperwork. This last leg was the most stressful for me, I think because it is out of your hands and all left up to your UK half to deal with the rest. Hang in there you are so close to the end of all of this, and let me just say it is WONDERFUL to have them home for good!

Thanks Tim & Bethanie. I agree. I somehow thought this part would be easier, but it does feel like everything is out of our hands now. Not long now!

Asad.....he had booked his medical after receiving the pkt. 3 with the K3. After cancelling, he called the embassy who advised him to keep the medical but to use the CR-1 case number. I don't think you should have to reschedule, but you know how this system works ;)

devilette....They did look at his willy. She didn't touch it or anything...just looked to make sure it was there...lol.
