does anybody know how long it usually takes after submitting I864 and ds230 to the NVC for them to process the case and send it to the embassy in cairo ? they dont have time tables or anything in thier website ? just wondering .

It usually takes NVC about 2-3 weeks to review the packages. If no RFEs, then your case is closed. You're then put into a queue for the interview date to be scheduled. I'm not sure the wait times at your embassy, so I can't tell you how long you're going to have to wait at this point. Once an interview date is scheduled, your case will then be shipped to the embassy.

Ok what I am going to tell you is the truth, you can accept it or not, but here goes....

Usually yes it is rather quick. My case was finished at the Nvc in something like 20 days. January 31st my case was complete and ready for an interview, which should have been scheduled for a March interview. But with all the things happening at that time with the revolution the embassy closed. It did not re-open until April 10th. Therefore a HUGE backlog was created. People have been stuck at the NVC level for MONTHS now. Ahmed and I included. We just got an interview date, we were notified on May 29th that an interview has been scheduled for July 21st, yeap that's right 6 months later minus 10 days we finally got our interview scheduled! Still people for February, March, APRIL AND MAY AND JUNE ARE AWAITING AN INTERVIEW, AND TRUST ME YOU WILL NOT SEE AN INTERVIEW BEFORE THOSE WAITING AHEAD OF YOU DO. RIGHT NOW IT IS LOOKING LIKE 5 TO 6 MONTHS AFTER YOUR NVC COMPLETION YOU WILL HAVE AN INTERVIEW DATE SCHEDULED. I realize this is hard news to swallow, but it is true none the less. Unless something drastic changes and we see all those waiting for an interview date get scheduled all at once you are in for a wait, sort of like when you waited for the NOA 2. There is a topic started by Wendy here in the Egypt portal for those waiting at the NVC for an interview, might I suggest you find the topic add your NVC completion date and keep watching that topic t see when the interviews are being scheduled for. This is your best option for keeping up to date as to where the NVC is at with scheduling. Calling the NVC only adds to the frustration, they will not tell you anything useful, trust me I called for 5 months straight to only hear misinformation and to listen to a scripted response that didn't add up to a hill of beans. Find the topic and keep watch, this is the best thing to do. Best wishes and I hope you are able to find a way to wait out this step, while it is not fair, it is all you can do now.

Wow, the wait's 5 months? blink.gif I knew the Cairo embassy was closed for awhile and got backed up, but I didn't realise it was that bad!

I wish all those going through Cairo a speedy interview date! rose.gif
