Set up an online account using your case #. Then on the main page there is a table which lists all your cases. The 5th column in that table says "Last Updated". This is what touched means. Any time someone so much as looks at your case they have to scan the bar code on it and that is how you know that someone has looked/done something to your case.

Good luck

It is a waste of time to fret over being touched--it may be the least reliable thing you can look at--it absolutely will not make you feel good, and can really make you feel bad

Totally agree!!! :crying:

Supposedly, whenever anyone actually physically handles your packet/file at USCIS, they are supposed to scan the barcode and it "should" show up on the USCIS website as being "touched". It is my understanding that even if it is moved from one desk to another, it should be scanned and you should see the "touched" date change on their website for your account. However...it seems that many petitions are approved and the "touched" date never changes. I agree that it can be very discouraging to check the status of the petition on the USCIS website...because, as in my case, it indicates that my petition has not been touched since the 1st of April. Whether or not this is true, is anybody's guess. It seems that they only reliable thing is to wait until you recieve your NOA2.
