Hi

My spouse will have interview at Bombay consulate. I was getting hard time to get PCC from my surat city. Later, I called to NVC (6 to 7 time and talked with different operator)asked them about requirement of pcc, and they told me that pcc doesn't require for me and people whose consulate is Bombay(Mumbai). They said at the time of interview my spouse will it with consulate officer. Is that true? because i have been reading all threads , it says pcc needs with DS230 otherwise we may get RFE. I talked many operators and their answered was same don't need pcc.So

Should i go and summitte just DS230 and supporting documents? Can i trust all those operator or not?

PCC from Local Police and also from the Passport Office are required. NVC generally allows the PCC to submitted at the time of Interview, where the Passport Office or the Local Police insists on a copy of Interview letter, which is possible only after DS-230 submission.

It may be better for you to submit DS-230 seeking NVC permission to allow you (your spouse) to submit PCC at interview time and meanwhile try to get the PCC from Surat City (they may be looking for some payment).
