I would like to hear from others with a similar timeline to mine. I was approved (NOA2)on June 6th. 15 days later, NVC has no record of my case. I was told that after 15 days, I could send them a copy of my NOA2, and they would open an inquiry as to where my case is. Anyone else with a recent approval in the same situation? Thanks!

I think that is pretty normal, for me it took 2 weeks from my NOA2 to get my case number from NVC. I Think it can even take up to 4 weeks (not sure about this). Dont worry, it should be coming soon!

Im in the same position as you my case also got approved on june 6th... and when I called to ask about my case they told me that it takes 15-20 days for it to get there and then you have to wait till they process it.. .both the people i talked to told me the same thing... :( i hope we get it soon..

15 business days--not calendar days, so you have a ways to go before before they will open an inquiry

In 2 days, the 15 business days will be over, so she really doesn't have much longer to wait. It seems like NVC is suddenly going much slower than they have in the past. At least when I was in the process 2 years ago, cases were arriving within a couple of days and being sent on to the embassy soon after.

My case has passed the 15 business day mark, so I emailed and NVC opened an inquiry. NVC then emailed me to confirm they opened an inquiry and stated it would take up to 6-8 weeks for them to receive the case from USCIS and contact me with the next steps. #######?? I called USCIS for giggles to see what they said, and I was told that they had up to 90 days to send my case to the NVC. Needless to say I was pretty unhappy with both answers. So my husband and I thought we were ahead of the curve by our petition being approved in 3 months...not so much.

You are not alone. Mine was worst. My Notice Date was May 27, 2011. Until now,NVC still haven't receive my petition papers/docs from USCIS. I already e-mail a copy of my a copy of my NOA2 @ NVCresearch and they e-mailed back that NVC will try to call USCIS on my behalf. Until now, still no follow-up! I really hate this kind of situation! You can't do anything, you can't send your DS3032 form. I really don't get it why some gets their case number within 2 weeks and others almost a month and still nothing... so depressing!

can that really be true? Wait 6-8 months for a case number!?

So what we do it keep calling? When do we send the email for agent? Is that after they give us the case number?

Thanks!

Today's email from the NVC says that as of June 15th my petition was en route to the NVC from USCIS - California. According to USCIS "en route" means it is either in/on its way to/or has left their mailroom. It is not indictative of the petition having left the building so to speak. So I was told to be patient and that once my petition has entered the system at the NVC it could take up to 6-8 weeks for them to contact me. And it continues.
