Anybody here that kept bank accounts in the UK?

Just wanted to remind my UK friends that the deadline for filing the FBAR (Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts) is June 30. If you lived in the US in 2010 and had the equivalent of $10,000 or more in the UK, you need to fill out IRS form. TD F 90-22.1 Even if you were a signatory on someone else's account (child or parent) you need to read the instructions to see if you need to report it. It also applies to US citizens living in the UK. The $10k could be spread amongst several accounts, not all in one account. This would be for the calendar year 2010, so if you're not in the US yet, keep it in mind for next year.

To add to Nich-Nick's comments remember that "account" also includes any defined contribution pension plans that you may still hold in the UK. For example personal pension plans, old style FSAVCs etc. Employer provided defined benefit pension plans do not need to be reported.
